I got off work today for an inch of snow. NoVa really needs to work on its winter weather prep and reaction time... jeez.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

This guy Will, btw, is not to be confused with my old friend Sonny, who owns a supermarket, who shoves into my car every time he sees me...

In NC, they close everything down with a quarter inch of snow...including the 7-11.

You can see the Capital Beltway from our apartment and it was congested with stand still traffic from the time it started snowing last night (6:15-ish) until 4:30 this morning. You'd think people who live in a snow prone area would learn how to drive in it. Guess not.

Rant #2: I just checked our "save for N-400" fund and it is smaller than I would like it to be considering we file in less than two months. Grr.

Snowfall amounts and closed store precised, good grief man.

Rant #2: I just checked our "save for N-Many00" fund and it is smaller than I would like it to be considering we file in less than two months. Grr.

The good news, dear Part Many, is that D-Hueso can study for the N-Many00 exam by reading our thread on Mrs. T-B.'s efforts. Stand on the shoulders of giants, si ma'am.

Whether it's easy or not, it's still a process that costs more money than I have and lasts several months. :crying: Happy this will be the last step, though.

We don't do snow days in Minnesota apparently. I think they had no school one day last year because the windchill was like -45 and there was blowing snow that made it difficult to see. The superintendent felt like he needed to explain canceling school in the paper and his explanation went something along the lines of the kids that get bussed 20 miles away could have a breakdown or accident on the way home and yah, know, die from hypothermia.

Didn't you inherit a ton of money? Or at least a ton more than I did.

I used to think that PennDOT handled snow situations in PA pretty badly but in comparison to this area we had it pretty good up there. I have a friend from North Dakota though who says growing up they would just bundle up real good and go on their way. Makes sense, considering otherwise they probably would've been in school year round.

I did inherit money but I stuck it in an investment fund and generally like to pretend it isn't there so we don't rely on its funds... Otherwise we would've dipped into it a thousand times by now, and at that rate it'll be gone before I'm thirty.
