Feel free to do so. I think if they know that there are "notes" on our side also they won't be so flippant in the way they treat people. If they try to say you can't ask them to show you were the rules say that in their procedural manual.

Thank you so much :D will do.

People who have to deal with consulars in other countries other than Ghana have no clue what we are going through. My husband has never been to the US. Never been married. Never applied for a US visa. We have a 1 year old son. My husband is an ex footballer who traveled throughout the world. He was not some poor desperate African. Our case was sent back to USCIS as a sham marriage. I understand Ghana is a high fraud country. But petitions need to be reviewed case by case an have real proof of sham marriages. These consulars are not even reviewing and reading a damn thing.

No worries, I'm used to it by now :)

I agree with strict and reliable. Fair... Depends on how you see it. A lot of people forget that coming to the US is a privilege not a right. People seem to think they're entitled to coming here just because their married or engaged to a USC.

If fair means everyone should be treated the same way with the same chances of approval or denial then yes absolutely. As it is now some people from some countries just have to show up to the interview and they're approved. For example: have anyone here seen anyone from Scandinavia denied? That is one of the reasons why I almost feel bad about even giving my opinion in this thread because it feels like I shouldn't even say anything... But I do believe that they show be a bit harsher on countries with high fraud but as it is now that has spiraled out of control because they don't seem to be able to differentiate the good people from the bad. I can totally understand denying a couple who just met (no matter how in love they are) but a couple who has been together for years? How is that not true love?

Did you bring proof of this or did you just tell them? Telling them is not proof, they want hard evidence.

First of all get your facts straight, A US citizen petitioning a spouse is a right.

Petitioning? Sure. We will call it a right. The spouse actually immigrating? That's a priviledge

its only a privilege for some. Not all immigrant spouses are begging to come to the US.

I feel your pain and believe me Ghana is not the only country suffering this prejudice, sorry but I wish it was. The good thing is the counselor does not have the power to deny only USCIS does. Let's pray for each other until we get our visas. :)(L)

Absolutely you're right. Unfortunately the USCIS and CBP seem to think that everyone is dying to be a citizen

Not about Gana but I´ll say what I´m doing for a Port of Entry...

By the law and like they say by their records, USCIS is about to receive the solo I-212 at the port of entry that I was removed, acordilly to the ban that I received.

I´m trying to do this it´s been a month already... The Senator Liaison was rude with my lawyer and didn´t resolved... You know what I´m doing?

I´m opening a federal process on them... It will take long, but I´ll make them realize that I´m not stupid and my lawyer either...

I can´t explain what I´m feeling about this... I´ll be away from my husband longer because they are not respecting their own protocols... They will have it back... Maybe for the future they will think twice to do that...

I´LL START TO LIVE BACK AGAIN WHEN I´LL BE ON MY HUBBY´S ARMS, FOREVER AND EVER. UNTIL THERE, I DON´T LIVE. I SURVIVE. (L)

Suicide? Really? I get the issue but come on now. If they're "pushed to commit suicide" it's likely that they have larger issues than immigration.

As I've said, the SCOTUS gave them absolute power after 9/11. Sadly I don't see it being taken back

No kidding.

If they sniffed out the suicidal ones for denial more power to them.

My wife dislikes living in the US

So much for the "desperate to marry for a green card" theory..

Why do you Americans think everybody is desperate to come to America. First of all my husband is migrating here because I want to be here. If it was up to my husband we would be living in Ghana or Europe. He is a ex-footballer who has the ability to live any place other than America or Ghana. I am the one who is privileged for meeting and marrying such a wonderful man who has taught me many things. Especially there are more things in life than America. If he cannot get a visa we will still be ok.
