Voluntary work

Hi guys :

How can the voluntary work support the applicants who will apply for citizenship? And how long working as a volunteer required .

Plus how could they know that some one worked as a volunteer ?

They don;t care your voluntary work, or even your paid work really, as long as you have paid your taxes.

I agree, but I read in USCIS website the voluntary work is one important criteria will help as a good moral character.

Maybe I`m wrong I do not know

There is nothing about work related that has anything to do with your N-400. You'll still be eligible even if you were unemployed and never worked a day. The only financial string is owing back taxes to the IRS. As long as you don't owe any takes you good. If you happen to owe, still not a deal breaker provided you have payment arrangement with the IRS and are making progress with payments and have documentary evidence of such. When it comes to moral character, USCIS is pressing for criminal records not unemployment records. Employment or not has nothing to do with criminal record unless you work for a drug kingpin or something.

No that's not true. If it was everyone and their uncle would be doing volunteer work...
