RFE Question

I'd an rfe is issued and the uscis is not satisfied with the reply, is it automatic denial at that point, or is that where an interview come into play? How common are rfe's. It would seem from following this forum that they are very common

i had an rfe but it was simple enough and I supplied exactly what they asked for. origional marriage certificate in native language with translation. i did the translation myself. attached a statement of competency/ ability to translate etc. got it notarized, signed and sent it in.. it was accepted and i got approval in a few weeks.

what was your rfe for? and how do you know it was rejected by uscis? i would assume if what you sent in isn't sufficient, they'd ask for better evidence. at this point I would call and speak with a rep at USCIS.

oh, one thing did happen when i responded with the rfe. instead of receiving a notice that the rfe was received by them, I got a notice saying that my request for an interview was received...... which confused me. and when i called uscis, they were confused too. as there is no interviews for petitions. so the rep thought it must have been a mistake as far as the notification was concerned so he put in for an inquiry. 2 weeks later......... Approval.

Sorry I didn't explain more, I have only just filed for roc about a week ago. I was just getting nervous seeing all the inquiries about rfe's. We sent a fairly robust packet of evidence or so I thought. I have seen people in the forum who sent in quite a bit more than us and they still received one. Just wondering how common they are overall.

Usually a RoC application isn't denied without at least an interview. The only exception is usually where they issue an RFE and you don't reply, which is always an automatic denial. If you send a crappy reply then an interview would be a virtual certainty, however.
