What if you used ITIN last year, but now have a Social #?

We used an ITIN for filing joint last year, but this year hubby has a social security number (although none of the income was U.S. for 2006).

Do we just file our taxes with the Social Sec. #? and they figure out the two are the same? Should we add a letter saying "used to be ITIN XXX, now is Social XXX" How do they eradicate the ITIN and replace it with SSN?

Hey.. I had an ITIN last year, and a SSN this year.. We just filed normally with my new SSN in its appropriate spot.. we are supposed to get our refund direct deposited tomorrow.. I did call the IRS to ask about this, and they said just to file normally with the SSN...

I had the same thing happened to my daughter, we used her SSN once we got it but informed the IRS about her new SSN. When you get an ITIN, you are instructed (see the letter that came with your ITIN) to let the IRS know that that ITIN will be replaced by a SSN.
