Thanks and you're right about keeping him relaxed. Believe me I've been doing the best I can with that. He's got a killer smile that lights the room, so I'll be sure to mention that to him. Again all I can say is "enshaa Allah" and I keep reminding myself.

If things go south with this visa, I will attempt appeal, and then if not then, I will go to Egypt where we will marry and then try a K3. I just have 2 kids here and we both feel Egypt will not be good for them, so you can see the source of my anxiety and his too. He wants our little family together and so do my kids.

Do you think anyone has literally gone insane from this process? I mean, after all this, then there is the bloody AOS to go through. ARGH.

I want to wish you the best with your interview. I have always heard too, to simply answer the questions. Just the answer, do not add additional information. My fiance and I went through everything we thought they might ask. I think he knew me better than I did. Hopefully he will be able to relax and show his confidence and they will feel it. Once again, I'll be thinking of you and hoping for an approval. Good Luck!!

Just waiting, I think this forum was created to keep us from going insane  Keep venting here, I can't tell you how much it has helped me. I was so happy the day I found this website, just to meet and talk to other people that are going through the same thing as me and some that are even from the same country! It really helps.

I'm really starting to believe that this whole process exists to test relationships. If we canovercome a long term long distance relationship and this process along with with all the other bumps in the road along the way then I do beleive we can stay with our Habibi's forever.

People say long distance relationships are impossible. Well, we've all learned that just isn't so. Moh and I have used these 10 months to learn how to cope with stress and frustration and how to trust. You know how easy it is, when you are vexed to the extreme, to want to just lash out... and we do it the most at the ones we love because we know they will take the punches. We have learned the tides of each other's emotions, the triggers to our tempers, and how to be more supportive to each other. We also have a deeper acceptance of who we are and again a depth of trust that little could break. It's been a maturing time. But all said... I JUST WANT MY MOHAMMED BACK BY MY SIDE!!!!! ARGGGHHHH.

I share with him what I read here, and sometimes we sit and read the posts together. It has helped HIM immensely to feel HE is not all alone in the world with his troubles. 6 more days....

Yep, doesn't do any good to stress now. Really! and I know that it is difficult not to let it get to you.

One thing I do know . . . you can't predict how the interview will go! Some people have hard interviews and get their visas in a timely fashion (maybe 6 weeks now?) . . . some have easy interviews (like my Ahmed) and still wait through weeks (4 1/2 months really, LOL) of the security clearance/administrative review stuff . . . and others get denied or have their petitions sent back (we have all heard the stories now) and are left waiting and wondering for so long!

Just be prepared, have all the paperwork done properly, have proof of the relationship (although they didn't ask for any from us), tell him to answer the questions as well as possible , be respectful, honest and straightforward . . . and try not to get upset and argue.

Sounds easier said than done, I know . . . but it will be OK!! And soon it will be over, LOL!

OH, and a big PS . . . we have an age difference too and someone on VJ (not going through Cairo Embassy) was so "kind" to point out to me that we would probably be denied . . . I don't talk about the age thing before because I think it is not for others to decide. Maybe my husband has enough of the fabled Egyptian charm that the woman interviewing him looked kindly on him, LOL!

I had a good giggle over that "fabled Egyptian charm" thing. I just HAVE to ask you... did you ever get the pleasure of dealing with "the woman at window #1" in the Embassy in Cairo? We had been there several times trying to resolve a few issues when I was living in Egypt and she is a horror. When we said we planned to marry (and Mohammed was proud all puffed up like a little rooster) her expression said if she was not needing her job, she would have spit on us. She asked "what is your age difference?" which had absolutely NOTHING to do with why we were there. Mohammed deflated and I said, "oh a few years." Pfft. Now the poor man is in terror he will have to face her without me there. Unfortunately, tongue in cheek aside, these experiences have left us in fear of what will happen. I never did have a good experience with any personnel there, especially the "gentleman" at the front gate. Ew.

Ok, ok... I will relax I will relax I will relax I will relax... even if I have to take a hammer to my head. I'm sick of all this stress. Blah.

LOL, I don't remember the woman at window one! Maybe I just blocked it out. There was one woman there that was a bit abrupt and maybe that was her??? When I tried to ask a question, she just said "we don't have anything to do with that" . . . not like she doesn't know because she probably does have all the "answers" . . . she just doesn't want to say!

Good Luck! If you need to ask more questions, I might have an answer . . . LOL, but I can't swear that I will!

Yep! That sounds like her! Bored-with-the-fact-you-are-existing-in-her-space-and-can't-be-bothered kind of attitude. Ever had the experience of hanging out in the Arab League Building? That is something else... such a mass of humanity from every country on the planet. Moh was flitting about like a little hummingbird from person to person making conversation, dragging me along behind.

Gad, its a wonder I haven't been fired today. I've spent more time in the forum then I have pushing paper. But then again they know I'm consumed with the countdown. I'm blessed to have a wonderful boss. I'm blessed to have all you too. You guys rock.

Lucky you! right now I am blessed that I can work from home and this will be really nice if I can continue doing it on my latest project . . . because it would be good to spend more time at home with Ahmed. Well just have to see how it goes! High speed data lines rock!!!

Awww, your Moh sounds absolutely adorable! My husband is like that, he has to talk to EVERYBODY around. Once we were waiting for a grand taxi to fill up in Morocco, and he was chatting on and on with this guy. I got sick of standing around and went to buy a soda. I bought one for his "friend" too. When we finally left, and Majid had said his heartfelt goodbyes to his "friend", he asked me why I bought the guy a soda. I said it was because they were obviously such good friends... Maj said he'd never seen the guy before that day and actually he just kept talking and talking and he thought it was impolite to break the conversation!

Hahaha. We had a woman come up to us in the Arab League building and she said something to me about me and my husband making a lovely couple. Moh pulls me off the side "What did she say? What did she say?" I told him and he starts to gurgle with laughter. "Wow, we DO look good together." I was actually shocked because I'm a bit older then Mohammed and we would get a lot of looks of distaste. It was a true pleasure to meet someone who looked beyond the surface and saw the actual relationship instead of their own judgements.

I think I'm getting off topic... oops. Ok. I'll stop now.
