My fiance is now in the USA on a K1 visa with her little girl. Since we had a big ceremony in Thailand, we plan to go to the JP court on Monday to make it legal. I have been told by the DMV that as soon as we are married and she passes the driving test, and providing we present the marriage certificate, she can start using my name on her drivers license, and ditto for the SS card.

I know that in one place on the AOS forms, they ask for her name exaclty as it appears on her visa, does that mean that in other places on these forms she can use her married name?

How can I tell which is the "Alien Number"? there was a number starting with an "A" on my NOA2, but then would I use the same number for the daughter? (I did not get a second NOA2 for the daugther).

Do we have to have an SS number before we can file for AOS??

Do I need to complete SEPERATE I-864's for my fiance and her daughter? (I noticed the form asks for other family members accompanying Pao, so it seems kinda silly to complete 2).

What about her passport? If she uses my name to get her AOS, what about the passport? How does she get her name changed on her Thai Passort

Thanks,

Bil

Yes, use her married name unless otherwise asked.

How can I tell which is the "Alien Number"? there was a number starting with an "A" on my NOA2, but then would I use the same number for the daughter? (I did not get a second NOA2 for the daugther).

Is the number just above/below your fiancee's name? If yes, then that is the A number. I don't know about using it for the daughter. Maybe someone else can confirm that.

Do we have to have an SS number before we can file for AOS??

No.

Do I need to complete SEPERATE I-864's for my fiance and her daughter? (I noticed the form asks for other family members accompanying Pao, so it seems kinda silly to complete 2).

I don't think you need to complete another one for the daughter, but perhaps someone else can confirm this.

Check with the Thai passport agency.

The instructions I read (don't remember where at the moment) said it was not necessary to submit separate I-864 forms. But I highly recommend you document this in your cover letter! I included one copy for both, and included a detailed list of documents in my cover letter. I referenced the I-864 with my wife's documents in the list for my stepdaughter.

Our interview date is next month (Apr 24th).

2005-08-10: Met Natalia and fell in love. Too bad she didn't.

2006-01-13: Married. Biggest mistake of my life.

2006-03-07: Began the I-130/I-129F process.

2006-11-01: POE - JFK / Home in Austin!

2006-11-15: She hits me and continues pattern of abuse.

2006-11-16: I filed for divorce.

2006-11-17: Wife is served divorce papers; she and daughter return to Russia.

2007-12-08: She returns to Russia "for the holidays" (lied to lawyers and court).

[many more ups and downs during this time period - mostly downs]

2008-03-26: File for bankruptcy.

2008-07-30: Bankruptcy finalized.

2008-08-27: Divorce final. Started piecing my life back together.

(See my timeline for details.)

Disclaimer: I'm just a guy who married for love, but she didn't! All she wants is money and a green card.
