Hi ,

My name is Korina.

I would like to get an information about the estimated time that will take to get my husband in US.I am a permanent resident for 4 years .I got married recently and soon we are going to have a son .For the moment I am.here in US waiting to deliver the baby .During all this time I have been traveling overseas every 5 months but now It's been 5 months that I haven't .I am here in US and haven't seen my husband for a while .He works back home and is coming for a month only in US after delivery .When he comes on November I am going to work on his paperwork to file the I130 .I have read a lot at USCIS.gov but I am confused how long will it take to get back together since we are going to have a baby too .So he comes here in US in November .I file the I130 .What happens next? Will it take days weeks months years to get him here ?

Thanks in advance

You have been LPR for 4 years and will be able to apply for citizenship next year (90 days before the 5th anniversary of your LPR status). I recommend you to start I-130 process now and upgrade your petition from F2A to IR-1/CR-1 after your citizenship approval.

The benefit of starting your I-130 now is that you might already have I-130 approved by the time you become citizen and NVC process will be faster then.

I'm not familiar with that much of detail. You might want to talk to an immigration lawyer about it. You might be able to waive that 2 years based on circumstances. I recommend professional help.

Online research might be helpful as well.
