You can argue the point till your red in the face, but what Hank and I and others have stated is what is from the "boots on the ground" experience. You need the NBI and CENOMAR not to be older then 6 months at the time of your interview. Fail at this and it could cost you 221(g) and extra processing time. It's your call.

NBI is valid for one year, BUT.... USEM prefers them to be 6 months or newer for the interview.

Not a problem for him to get another.

Just follow the instructions in the email and you should be good to go.

The embassy instructions letter states a year also, but too many have banged against this 6 month issue so we pass it on.

Thanks Hank. We used her old nbi clearance when she was at the embassy in Aug with no problems. (DOD dependent id card) She went and got another NBI thinking it would be Feb before we had to worry about the interview.

We have been very thankful for the guidance you Greenbaum and others have provided.
