I recieved today my AP. I am planning to travel in the mid-march.

When I read the intructions on the documents, say that the AP doesn' t guaranteed the admission into the US.

Has anyone used the AP to re entry to the US? How was the experience? What I should bring?

Thanks for the help

Margarita

We didn't even apply for AP because it's not guaranteed. They can decide to not let you back in, especially if you've had an overstay on a visa. I'm pretty sure it's up to the officer at the POE. But as I said, not guaranteed.

We used AP with no problem. Annie was technically an overstay for over a year and we had no problems.

In fact, it was a really good thing because they gave her a one year I-94 to prove she legal so that she could get her drivers licens.

If you don't have any special issues, like an overstay, there is absolutely no reason to worry. I entered the US on Tuesday using my newly issued AP. It was very fast and easy. I had to go into the back room to get the Paroled-stamp, but that only took five minutes extra. I did get a new I-94, though. Good luck!

The only time your entry into the country is guarantied is when you are a US citizen. So, as an alien, I am not sure what type of guarantee you are looking for. An alien's entry into the US is NEVER guaranteed and is always subject to the CBP's determination of the alien's eligibility for entry. As such, as far as your ability to enter the country is concerned, your entry on an AP is no different than your entry via any other document, such as a visa. So, as long as you do not have any immigration violations (overstays, etc...), what exactly is your concern about using AP?

My husband has overstayed his visa for 4 years due to being actively engaged in a wrongful death lawsuit. No way are we paying the money for AP (not that we have the money to travel right now ANYWAY) only to have him told he can't re-enter, which is what would happen. Obviously, I didn't know the OP's situation as there is no timeline. The OP was worried because it's not guaranteed, and it's not. I never said that *I* expected any kind of guarantee.
