We still have not had any luck selecting an interview. Has anyone seen any appointments open? Here's hoping they open some interview slots soon. Sending everyone waiting the best of luck!

I placed a call to IV yesterday and they told me the same thing the others have posted earlier. Keep trying some spots will show up if someone cancels, and this doesn't mean they are closed or not taking anymore interviews, just means they have a back log and will open more dates soon.

So it looks like we just keep trying daily and good luck to everyone else also.

There is no available dates still in Montreal when i checked. It has already been past one week since we paid for our application online and still no availability. Have you been waiting long too? I don't know how long the waiting game may take. ?

I've been waiting since the 29th of September, so it's been going on for a while now. When I called last week to speak with the operator at the consulate of Montreal, she said that Montreal's IV-DV department wouldn't know exactly since they take care of visas and such, so they personally wouldn't know how long to expect, she told me that they did say they're currently over booked which is why the calendar has been grayed out. There should be openings soon though, it shouldn't take over a month. We spoke about this for a good 40 minutes and I kept trying to push to get an answer. Sadly this is really down to the line information of what's going on.

Personally I would say maybe this week or next week there should be something since I doubt they have years of overbooks. Stay strong everyone, our loved ones will be with us once again soon!

Ps. I have just sent an email to the consulate now in attempts to see if there's any updates.

Thank you @ZoloStorm for the update. Yes, we have been anxious about this process after no available dates for over a week already. For everyone's sake i do hope they will release dates this week. Do you know how long they usually block off schedules from the calendar?

We have been checking since October 7. Unfortunately, we've had no luck as of yet. We call almost every day and check the website several times per day. I'm remaining optimistic that they will open up interview slots soon. Here's hoping we all get to spend the holidays with our loved ones.

All they were sadly able to tell me was that due to their over-bookings, they have to move everyone around, so it hopefully shouldn't take too long. As for the department that does the visas, they don't take care of the over-bookings, I did try to push a bit more an answer for that but I was told to check on the website. I'm almost at a month now so I do hope for everyone waiting it doesn't take much longer.

Mine expires on Dec. 4th. As for updates, I contacted the embassy once more and sadly still no reply.

As for if it expires or doesn't reach the date within the time frame, I was told by the consulate itself when I called that the officer will have to re-validate your visa, thus giving you an extension. It will help if you have proof regarding attempting to book an appointment or contacting the consulate for information.

My understanding is that even if it expires, they can re-validate during your appointment. You don't need proof of trying to book an appointment, as they are aware of the back log, and you have 1 year from time of payment for the appointment to be valid. They told me the money is no refundable, and valid for 1 year from the payment date. Now I hope this would not be the case but if there isn't an appointment and your 1 year after payment comes up that may be an issue.... But I hope that won't happen to any of us.

I am in the same boat, ours expires on Oct 31, but we hadn't been trying to book an appointment for awhile due to some life emergencies that took much precedent. But we are back on track, I made the call to Montreal and they said no worries just book the appointment since you have paid, and the officer will just re-validate at the appointment. Plus to make sure that all of the letters and info that I need to bring for the appointment are valid and not expired.

So I sit here each day refreshing my browser, hoping for the calendar to show appointment dates. Thats all I can do right now... Fingers crossed

Good Luck to you!

Appointment dates close very fast. They just opened up November 2015 17,18,20,23,24,25 at 12:28PM EST and they were all gone by 12:34PM EST.

You need to refresh every few minutes and check...or write a script to do it, that's how I got my appointment.
