I might end up getting hep B done anyway (don't want to end up getting it)..

As an adult, do I need this vaccine?

You are a man who has sex with other men.

You inject drugs.

You have a job that involves contact with human blood*.

You are on the staff of, or a client in, an institution for the developmentally disabled*.

You are a hemodialysis patient or have end-stage renal disease.

You have HIV infection.

You are a dialysis patient.

You have chronic liver disease.

You have diabetes and are under age 60.

You live or travel for more than 6 months a year in countries where hepatitis B is common.

I work in a healthcare profession so it's probably a good idea to have it. Thanks for the list.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: United Kingdom
Timeline

On the list from up top it says:

  • Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS also. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster.
  • MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
  • Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam.
  • Influenza – Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed. The list on the London embassy website is out of date since 2009. Don’t follow it.

But I thought that We were supposed to have hep A & B too? Am I wrong?? I don't want to pay £120 for hepB if I don't need it as I already have to pay £81 for my daughter to get it as she needs it to enroll at school in our school county.

I am glad I found this thread as I also had a query regarding vaccinations...

I am in receipt of my medical records, and can see that I will only need a booster for Td as my last one was over 10 years ago. However, with the influenza one, could I get away with not having it if I wait until I'm in the states and it will be out of season?!

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

ROC Timeline:

01.04.19: I-751 Received @ Phoenix

01.09.19: Check Cashed

02.13.19: NOA Received

04.30.19: Biometrics Completed

You can get away with no flu shot if the adjudication of AOS happens when it is no longer flu season. So there is a window in 2016 from Apr 1 to Sept 30 when you would be okay without one. It isn't based on when you submit AOS. It is when you interview for AOS or if you have no interview, when your case is finally picked up to approve.
