Quick question: has anyone heard from the NVC yet? Also, will it be an email or snailmail?

I still haven't received any communication from the NVC, they must snail mail it or something. I have been told that 2 weeks after your i-30 approval you can start calling the NVC to see if they have your case number ready. Then that unlocks all the forms that need to be filled in and sent back to them.

I mailed our I-130 on October 2 from Australia, where it was assigned to the CSC. It was approved via email (NOA2) on Nov 13. I got the I-797 physical letter that our petition was approved on Nov 30. I rang the NVC today and they said they received my case on Nov 23 but it hasn't yet been assigned a case number. They said it can take up to 42 days to 'build a case'. I assume that means assign a case number. Not sure if that's 'business days' but maybe not because that's 6 weeks. I will ring again in the next week or two to see if there's been any progress.
