Tax Transcripts

Hey everyone. I am helping my sister bring her husband to the US and we are so far at the stage where the NVC is requesting financial documents and such to be sent in before it can be sent to the embassy overseas. Now my sister has a joint sponsor to help and we recently requested the tax transcript for the joint sponsor on the IRS website. What came in the mail was a letter from the IRS stating the request was denied and it could not be processed at the current time, or something to that effect.

We requested the tax transcript again but for 2013 instead and are currently waiting to see if it comes in or if we get a denial letter. But We have the 2014 tax return copy that the joint sponsor filed, so our question is if the tax return will suffice with the affidavit of support or do we have no choice but to provide the tax transcript?

If you can't get a hold of the tax transcript, you can submit the entire tax return with the W2s. You could also go to the IRS office and have your joint sponsor obtain one in person.

Also If your joint sponsor is married and file his return jointly with his/her spouse you will need copies of the w-2,s no matter if you send in tax transcripts or copies of tax returns
