I have been an active member since November 2006. I noticed that some members started off with the one blue newbie square and rapidly progress.

Some who joined weeks after me even have more squares, and hearts than me.

What is the determining factor, time posts, activity????

04-17-2007 Married using K1 Vusa
04-27-07 Filed for AOS, EAD, AP.
06-28-07 Green card arrived in mail

April 2009 Filed for removal of conditions.
May 09 2007 Biometrics
Aug 31st Congratulations letter, no interview needed
Sept 21st 2009. New green card with conditions removed arrived.

N400 Status
07/26/10 N400 mailed via UPS. Three year rule
08/03/10. Check cashed.
08/06/10 NOA letter received, but "Request for evidence" showing on the status website.
08/08/10 NOA #2. Biometrics appointment letter. Scheduled for 08/31/10
08/09/10 Biometrics completed. Walk in.
11/01/10 Touched. Transferred to local (Tampa) office
12/06/10 Interview . Passed
01/11/11 Oath ceremony

I did do a search for the answer "member"

Now I see the answer below under similar posts "member STATUS"

I'm about 15 away from my second... :lol: although I actually don't give a monkey's about post counts. Not allowed to. I'm married to Platy and he almost refused to post after 999 cause he didn't want a little heart! :lol: :lol:

It's normal I guess to wonder how the heart system works...I think I once asked the same questions...but it was just out of curiosity.

What *I* can't understand is when people show excitement for getting hearts....to me, the heart rating system is just an indicator of how much time I've wasted, lol

I have to agree there. Having a bunch of posts doesn't mean you're knowledgeable or helpful. It just means you posted a bunch of times. I'm much more knowledgeable about the K-3 process now than when I first joined but it's because of reading - not posting. I help others when I can but I'm far from an expert. I'm sure there's plenty of much more knowledgeable members with a lower member status just because they don't 'waste' their time in OT. :P Someone suggested that OT posts shouldn't count toward the member 'status'. Not a bad idea.
