Hi friends, is this going to be an issue w/ Visa/PP and/or POE??! :unsure:

Any advice / insights

As those of us here in this portal know, VN girls often times have 4 names and in VN names are written 'backwards' from Western standards. So my fiances name is

Family name, middle name 2, middle name 1, first name

Delta Charlie Bravo Alpha.

On her passport, ID and Birth Cert reads "Delta Charlie Bravo Alpha."

On I129, G325a forms it was:
First= Alpha

Last= Delta

Middle= Charlie Bravo

NOA1 just said First/last,

NOA1 just had First, Middle Initial, LAST

On her Pkt3 I just noticed it reads

Alpha Charlie Bravo Delta

(her address)

Dear Delta, Alpha Charlie Bravo

.....blah blah...

Case# bleh

Name (P): Delta, Alpha Charlie Bravo

Traveling Applicants:

Name (P): Delta, Alpha Charlie Bravo (her bday)

{REL1}

Anyways I was just trying to be clear and succinct. Hopefully more helpful insights from regional members that may have encountered this?

Last Name, First Name Middle Name

Viet passport reads: last middle first

Having traveled many places the airlines and immigration are well aware of the order of Viet Citizens names.

Thanks cyclone27 just worried cause like when you send money, they need to be exact, even an obvious dupe like last, middle, first first they'll refuse it. Just didnt want ti screwing up visa, or the CBP getting snarky about it at POE, or it causing heartburn during SSN, AOS, EAD, AP...etc

I plan on following the guide and getting SSN, getting married and even if she doesnt want to take my name just losing the 4th (3rd) name cause its a PITA. and redoing SSN and then proceeding to AOS/EAD/AP....

My wife also has 4 names and her VN passport spells like yours (Delta Charlie Bravo Alpha). Her SSN spells Alpha Charlie Bravo Delta, her DL has Alpha Charlie Bravo Delta, but her GC and EAD show Alpha C Delta.

When we got married, she was afraid to change her last name to mine. She did not want to have 5 names and a dash. LOL

Yours would not have any problem at POE. We sailed through without any issues.

Also, when you fill out the DS160 online, put her middle names together with her first name in the Given Name field (ALPHA BRAVO CHARLIE), because there are only 2 fields on the form: Family Name and Given Name.

Thanks guys, I'm sensitive to vietnamese culture and trying to rediscover it all. And I'm a progressive guy but with yeah all this and 5 names and considering vietnamese people only seem to use maybe 10 last names tops....I think I'm definitely pro name change at this point.

I wasn't going to push but its just going to save a lot of heartburn, if she wants to keep her family name thats fine by me just dial down to 3.
