If I were to call USCIS tomorrow would the tell me anything other than it's sill being processed? I think i would even be happy to hear if its being held up for namecheck reasons, at least I would know where it is. It's only been 120 days since the NOA1 and I know some people on here have been waiting much longer than me but I just need to hear something. I suppose no news is good news? Then again....this is USCIS we are talking about!

How long should I wait before enquiring?

Well...that depends. 120 days isn't that long actually. My husband and I have been waiting for almost 8 months for his GC. Our latest reply from USCIS was "If you do not receive a decision OR a notice of action requiring more information in 6 MONTHS to feel free to contact us again." *sigh*

I had to wait 180 days from date of filing for it to be outside CSC's processing times. Then you wait at least another 30 days to see if you find out anything..

2-28-2009 Sent in I-751

3-14-2009 Received I-751 back because they can't read

3-16-2009 Re-Sent I-751

3-17-2009 Received by Vermont

Waiting and watching the calendar flip ever so over closer to 4-2-2009 (When my 2 yr GC expires) . . .

4-2-2009 Received I-751 back AGAIN! Oh and my GC expired today.

4-3-2009 Re-Sent I-751

4-4-2009 Received by Vermont

4-6-2009 Date of NOA-1 Extension Letter (Rec'd 4/13/09)

4-10-2009 Check Cashed

4-24-2009 Date of Biometrics letter (Rec'd 4/30/09)

5-11-2009 Biometrics Appointment in Louisville.

That is the time frame that the USCIS stipulate on the phone... If it's over 180 days since filing they will do a service request.

did you get anything back regarding the service request? Kezzie is the only person I have seen toreceive anything and it was a year later!

it's only been a week so far, I am not expecting anything too soon. Katie_UK got an answer back on a service request and it was found that her case had not been sent to CSC as it was supposed to have been and was sitting on a shelf in Lee's Summit for 5 months with nothing done on it. It has since been forwarded on. Hoping that isn't the case with mine.

Thanks. I guess i'll wait another couple of months before enquiring.

It's frustrating when you don't know what the state of play is. I'm probably stuck in FBI namecheck hell as i have such a common name. Why my parents couldn't have named me 'Barneveld' is beyond me!!!!
