Hi All,

We are starting to fill out our AOS paperwork, and we want to be clear on how to proceed.

For form I-864, it's to my understanding that I am the primary sponsor. Since I am currently not employed I will be using my sister as joint sponsor. I understand I need to complete an I-864 and give a statement concerning not filing taxes since I am unemployed. She would also need to complete an I-864 with her supporting information.

For question Part 3 no: 1 I need to check yes, correct?

For Part 5 no: 7, since the joint sponsor, my sister, will be filling out her own I-864 and not an I-864A this question is left blank correct? It also means that she is not counted in my household size, but she counts my husband in her household size, correct?

When my sister fills out this form how does she also answer Part 3 no: 1? How does she also answer Part 1 which asks what type of sponsor she is; does she answer as 1.d I am the only joint sponsor?

I think we're in the right direction, we just need some reassurance that we're doing this correctly. Thanks.

The differentiation is in Part 1. You are 1a. She is 1d.
