I became a US Citizen back in mid July, and submitted copies of my US Naturalization Certificate, Approved I-797, and copy of legal name change document. I sent these documents via USPS overnight and the NVC office received on July 28, 2015, about a month after that I called to see if documents were being processed since I got no notification. On August 20th I was told to email scanned copies of the documents to asknvc@state.gov which I did. I sent all the scanned docs as 1 file PDF 677 kb in size, I know I read somewhere that file couldn't be over 5MB. As of today (October 7, 2015) our case has still not been updated.

When I call the NVC they tell me to give it more time, but it's been 71 days since mail documents and 46 days since emailed documents sent. Today I spoke to a representative at NVC and she stated that mailed documents would not be opened and just placed in our file since my husbands priority date is so far out. But she did say they would use emailed docs. now I'm fearful that since I sent scanned docs as one PDF file that it will cause a problem and further delay processing. Has anyone had any experience with this? If so can you help me figure out the next best course of action??? I truly don't know what else to do. Thanks in advance... :(:wacko:

I feel your pain & I understand your frustration. My wife was naturalized in March & we sent email & snail mail with proof. We got responses in May that it was under review & it wasn't till August 31 we got a confirmation of the upgrade. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that was my experience. I trust you will have a much better one than I did.

Thank you for sharing your experience... the way things are going for us, I feel our processing time will be similar to your's... I'm truly getting nowhere calling the NVC every other day. They originally stated that it would take 45 days then it was 60 days and now they say that there is no time frame request are handled in the order they're received. I'm happy yours has finally been updated, hopefully now the rest of the process will go quickly and smoothly for you.

I was finally able to get through to a supervisor at the NVC, and she was able to update our case over the phone by searching and finding original email with scanned documents.!!!! I'm so happy that this part of the wait is over, and now we can move onto next steps.
