Try Axe deodorant... it looks all fancy and designer-like.

A calling card to call home and tell them he's arrived safely.

I wish I'd thought to get a cell phone ahead of time, very good idea!

If they're coming in cold weather, a hat/scarf/gloves, and warm socks.

And most of all, remember that most likely all they will want to do is sleep when they get home, so don't plan anything extravagant for that first day or night.

Question...what are the best razors and deodorant for men? It's been way too long since I've had to buy that stuff.

Mach III (3) Razor

Right Guard Antiperspirant/Deoderant (<--personal opinion of course)

If things go well the following is what are the 'plans'...

  • Place to live - something we pick out together if can manage to stay where I am long enough until she gets here..
  • Car of some sort
  • Soft bed to sleep for days in..
  • Food for Oskar (the one and only cat)
  • Stealing some ideas from here - a nice basket of girlie toilletry things

If it all works out ok..

My hubby wants approval on everything, so what I haven't done yet, I'll wait until he gets here so we can go together and get what he wants. He will not have much to bring with him after his brothers get through claiming his stuff as their own. He always lets them, too! Grrrrrr!

Mach III razors seem to be the consensus so I'll go for those. Moh also uses soap instead of shaving cream  I brought Axe for him last time and it didn't work too well  Maybe it was cuz it was summer but I'm thinking he needs a stronger deodorant/antiperspirant. I, personally, like dark colored undies for men. I plan on picking up a few packs of nice undies from Marshalls or TJ Maxx. Plus normal socks...they tend to wear "dress" socks all the time in Egypt.

I wanted to stock up on everything for Mohammed's arrival, but he is TOO independent so we went shopping for all his "goodies" after he got here. He had a ball. I'm glad I waited. That Axe stuff is yummy, btw. He has become totally addicted to my Bath and Body Shop lotions so he's always smelling GOOD... but now I'm running out of lotion. Pooh.

Wow, I so sympathize with this! Maj arrived with a teeny suitcase and practically no clothes because he gave them all to his brothers. So then we had to buy a bunch of stuff  which we really didn't have the money for. Then when he went back to visit, despite the fact that we'd bought a ton of clothes for his brothers, he returned with almost nothing. Arghh!!

our Maj's are pretty similar then! mine brought a bunch of clothing gifts, but wound up leaving a bunch as well... he is going again for the month of May and one of our chairs is piled high with presents... no doubt his regular suitcase would be lighter as well when he returns

I think I'd be both mad and happy if that's possible. I'd be ticked that he gave his clothes away 'cause now we have to spend more money but I think I'd think it sweet of him to give it away to those he loves. :luv: I really think men from MENA are very generous at heart...which is what attracted me to mine in the first place.

It is common, Ahmeds brother comes home from Italy and leaves most of the clothes plus the gifts of clothes he brought. I heard him say once also most he would be leaving for his brothers and other things cds (because i had the orig) he would leave for the brothers. IT is just one of the things that makes them (them)

and often some are very simple men who do not see a need for all the material things we like to give them. It's also an arab thing, you give the shirt off your back if someone likes it. It's very endearing in my opinion.

I bought a dresser for her. And last night the kids and I went shopping and picked up a huge warm comforter and pillow for her. Western Washington will be a bit cooler than she is used to in the Philippines and United Arab Emirates.

My son also hand crafted a card saying "Welcome Home" except it says Welkome! And both kids want to go shopping for flowers for her when we meet her at SeaTac airport Tuesday to bring her home.

I figure on waiting till she arrives to shop for things she will need beyond that. I know she is going to need a warm coat, still snowing off and on here, and when not, cold and/or raining and windy.

Tuesday night can't get here fast enough!

(As to the guys perspective on razors, I have always used Gillette Mach3, it is most definitely the best!)
