Completely different ways between the two countries......yes.

For interview day, eat before you go. No electronics, dress comfortably, and just be prepared. Make sure the fiance knows all the information that was given in the 129F packet, not too hard there in the UK. Confidence and attitude go a long way, but mean nothing if the fiance can't answer simple questions such as birthday, job, address.

My apologizes I have been to 7 U.S. embassies each in a different country and never were you allowed to have electronics. Nice to know.

Edit: What about this link? http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/callcenter/security.html

It does not prohibit phones, tablets, keys, and such that used to be prohibited. Also see email confirmation from London Feb 2014 of the change http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/?p=6816206

I don't know if different countries do things differently, but they schedule your interview for you and send a letter with the date and time on

Congrats on getting your interview!

I didn't receive a letter but instead an email with my interview date. I was asked to print it off and bring it on the day.

Some get letters others emails.

Good luck!

Thanks guys!

i had my medical on the 1st September, but due to having to send them more paperwork about an existing medical condition, they didn't sent my information to the embassy until the 16th so its not been long!

Damn I was hoping to get out there before November 16th so my Sister can attend my wedding before she joins the army :(.

Doesn't look likely now.

Congrats to you again though, let us know how it goes!
