Had our interview this morning and got text notification 15 minutes after then got this update . Interview took 10 minutes , the officer just reviewed the I-485 and based his questions there. Such awesome interview experience. Brought all the original and additional documents which weighed 20 pounds and none was requested. Kudos to my husband who did well as I thought he was not paying attention. Thank you to Visa Journey as I followed your instructions there on concurrent filing that we didn't need a lawyer. So the lesson learned here is, submit complete/ detailed proof of relationship , just relax and if you have a bona fide relationship, there is nothing to worry about. Praise God for an answered prayer.

Congrats!! Does anyone know if filers who originally sent their applications to Chicago have had their applications transferred to the California service center? I'm guessing there is a backlog at the Chicago Office? I'm noticing a trend in AOS approvals with no interviews for Oct 2015 filers. Answers would be great please and thanks because I'm checking my case status compulsively lol and it's freaking me out!

I don't think they are being transferred to CSC. Most AOS applications get sent to Chicago, but they are worked in the Lee Summit, Missouri service center, or National Benefits Center (NBC).

When we were getting our K-1, I was noticing that many 2014 applicants were waiting a year or so for their GC. That was even after they received a NPIW! I was resigned for my husband to get EAD/AP within 90 days, then getting the GC within 10-15 months after that; especially since we are in Dallas, one of the most overwhelmed field offices!

However, I started noticing that later in 2015, some cases were getting approved faster for their GC. I think the USCIS started changing their procedure and decided that if the case qualified for interview waiver, to just issue the GC when an RFE was not needed rather than sending a letter that the case may get a potential interview waiver (NPIW) and sit on the case for another 6+ months! I have been pleasantly surprised to see several Dallas cases to get their GC within 3-4 months! I don't know if this is what USCIS is really doing because I don't think VJ has enough AOS data to determine that trend, but it's possible. I don't think the USCIS has an organized method of approving AOS as one case may get the GC within months and another one has to wait half a year, even though they are both in MSC. But if we get our GC during 2016, we will be satisfied!

It seems that if an applicant doesn't get an interview, there's no way of telling when they will get approved for their GC. If they do get an interview, then they could potentially be approved that day and be done until ROC! Being in Dallas, if our case needs an interview, we will be waiting for a very long time. I wouldn't mind an interview during ROC, but we are hoping this conditional GC will come this year instead of 2017!
