10/21/2015 - Tried to Walk-in at Elizabeth-NJ, Talked to ASC manager, but she Didn't allow me before scheduled date

12/16/2015 - EAD Approved

12/19/2015 - EAD received in mail.

With original AOS package was sent copy of visa, copy of marriage certificate (showing both maiden last name and married last name).




Any ideas on what they're looking for to prove original petitioner is same as the person now married and applying for AOS?

Did you put in the form on the other name used (which her name before she got married?)

Or when she sign up the form is she already used your family name?

I seem to remember the form requests "other names used" so she filed the application in her married name but filled in the part where it asks for other names used with her maiden name.

17 February 2004 Sent I-129F petition CSC - It was APPROVED in 147 days

3 September 2004 INTERVIEW IN LONDON SUCCESSFUL VISA APPROVED! MARRIED OCTOBER 16, 2004

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS - 5 MONTHS

4 January 2005 - Submitted applications for AOS and EAD - 12 May 2005 Conditional Permanent Residency Approved - interview in Santa Ana

4 June 2005 CPR 2-year Green Card arrives in mail

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS - 3½ MONTHS

8 May 2007 - I-751 sent to CSC - 23 August 2007 - Approved - Card production ordered

30 August 2007 - 10 year Green Card received

K2 TIMELINE (Stayed behind in UK to finish school)

28 March 2005 - embassy interview & medical London - visa granted

01/18/06 Applications for AOS/EAD sent - 03/28/06 EAD approved

4/3/06 - RFE for AOS - requested new medical and vacc supplement

4/26/06 - approved without interview and welcome letter sent

I seem to remember the form requests "other names used" so she filed the application in her married name but filled in the part where it asks for other names used with her maiden name.

In the other name used you will write your name before you got married. So that they would understand that she use your family name after your marriage.

Son & Daughter-in-Law - AOS Journey

August 6, 2015 - Married

October 5 - Mailed package - (day 1)

October 6 - Package Received - (day 2)

October 14 - NOA-1 Notice Date- (day 10)

October 15 - Check cashed - (day 11)

October 15 - Text Notification Received - (day 11)

October 17 - Biometrics Notice date - (day 13)

October 29 - Request for initial evidence - (day 25) somehow managed to use an outdated I-864 form....uuggh

November 2 - Biometrics date - (day 29)

November 3 - RFE Received - (day 30)

November 5 - Response to RFE mailed by overnight Fed-Ex - (day 32)

November 6 - Response to RFE delivered to USCIS (day 33)

November 10 - USCIS updated case to "we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485" (day 37)

December 2 - USCIS mailed letter with interview date of January 8, 2016! (day 59)

January 8 at 12:00pm - AOS Interview (Day 95)

Son and daughter in law received appointment letter for January 8th at 12 noon for AOS interview!

Along with that received a second letter (not a yellow RFE, just a regular letter) asking for further evidence that original K1 beneficiary named Adriana (maiden last name) is the same person as Adriana (married last name).

With original AOS package was sent copy of visa, copy of marriage certificate (showing both maiden last name and married last name).

Any ideas on what they're looking for to prove original petitioner is same as the person now married and applying for AOS?

Never come across this before!!

Did you include a copy of the NOA2 from the K1 with the application? That is the only thing I can think of.
