October 2015 AOS Filers

went to biometrics appointment earlier today....

Appointment was at 11:00am and everything went so smooth so I was there probably about 30mins or less.

My RFE hasn't come in a mail box yet. Hope nothing serious....

Went to biometrics yesterday (Tuesday, Nov 3rd) in Los Angeles. Literally took less than 15 minutes (in and out). They said work permit should be received within 4 weeks. Keeping fingers crossed!!!

Yes that's why i and the people at the USCIS office believe it was an error on there part. The RFE said the name on page 1 and page 3 didn't match. When we looked at it the names matched exactly verbatim (first, middle and last name) and was filled out correctly. The second point said we were filing as a joint sponsor. In fact we are filing with only one sponsor since i had only checked 1a in part 1 question 1. Hopefully i get this sorted out soon

Correct, me the husband and USC meet the minimum income requirements to be the only sponsor. Yeah i'm thinking they didn't look over the paperwork clearly and made a mistake. It just sucks that this probably delays our EAD/AP and my wife is hoping to be able to go home for chinese new years in jan. Hopefully we can still get it done in time.

mine was when I checked and got the updated status that they were needed the initial evidence, it was a friday then I received the mail on that monday (yellow paper).

i got the text/email last wed 10/28 and received the hard copy on monday 11/2

hey guys, I'm a little confused and I'm nearly ready to file my AOS package but not sure where to ask this but

did you all do a I-693 when you submitted your package?

I can't find a direct yes or no answer, my medical was only done in may so its within six months

don't want to send it off and then find out i do!

I think it depends but here is what visajourney said...

"I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status.I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. If you are missing any shots from your overseas medical a I-693 vaccination transcription is required to be completed by seeing a Civil Surgeon to have certain portions of the I-693 completed and have the Civil Surgeon certify the form (sealing the original in an envelope and giving you a copy.)"

You need to send a copy of your vaccination record. If you received all your vaccinations from the panel physician in your home country, send a copy of that worksheet. If you need vaccinations here, then you need to either get them from a civil surgeon, or have them done and then pay a civil surgeon to complete the I-693 for you.

We're going to have an issue. We wanted him to get all his vaccinations overseas, but they only gave one vaccine. Oy vey!

I sent a copy of the medical I had for the k-1 in September and a copy of the list of vaccinations I had (the same I gave at the consulate).

I found out yesterday the postal worker at my apartment building has been returning all of my mail without notifying me because my name was not included on the mailbox label in the sorting room. No one thought it was important to mention that there was a label on the mailbox that I needed to write my name on.

So, my biometrics appointment letter likely got rejected, and I had to phone USCIS to get another one sent, which should arrive in 16-30 days. I'm really frustrated right now because I basically have a guaranteed job when I get my EAD, and now it's being delayed again because someone couldn't be bothered to deliver my mail.

Sorry for my first post being a rant. It's just been one of those weeks...

I had kinda the same problem but luckily my now husband went to the manager of the complex where we live and told him that he was going to receive packages and mail with my name on it.

They put it with the mail to "sort/send back to sender",I luckily received an email saying that they delivered something for me but there was no sign in the mail.

Hopefully it'll take less than a month to have that letter!!!!!!!
