Once you move to the states you will be required to switch to a drivers license issued by your state of residence. International ones are good for visitors but not for people living here.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Hi there, I have used my Indian Licence for 2 months. As I know in state of Tx, it is valid for 3 months. You need to keep your passport, Pakistan driving licence & international licence both. Every state has specific period to use international driving licence, check that with local authority ( I have done the same). Cops asked me to pull over because my vehicle doesn't had number plate on it. I shown my licence and passport, he just told me drive carefully and safe.

Also driving is on left hand side, it is quite difficult initially; car insurance will be expensive on international licence.

Have safe journey.
