Hello,

We will be requesting an Israeli police certificate for my spouse (German citizen) on the way to an IR-1 visa. We currently live outside of Israel. The reciprocity schedule indicates we might be able to do this online (with the help of an Israeli friend for translation) or at the local embassy, then the certificate is mailed directly to the consulate.

We're not sure when to send in the request. How long does this process typically take?
