Hi - Our I-129F was approved and the case passed to the NVC (we await notification of NVC receiving it).

We are currently together in the USA so would like to get the financial info (bank letter etc.) put together so fiance can take it all with him back to the UK in two weeks time.

BUT - looking at timelines it's likely that embassy interview will not be for another couple of months (at least)

Is it too soon to get the financial info? What is regarded as an acceptable gap between gathered info and interview date?

Do it today. and skip the bank letter. London is quite happy with one proof. Employer letter is a good one.

THANKS! Good to know London is quite relaxed. I'll do everything before I leave the USA and head home.

I'm going to take employer letter and a bank statement (showing the year's pay) plus a couple of recent paystubbs.

I've got plenty time to gather it all while I'm here in the USA and she is out at work!

Going back to the original post where she said awaiting NVC notification of NVC receiving it. If you are waiting on mail from NVC, they are really slow notifying the petitioner that the case has been sent to London. It will already be in London and you could have the instruction letter from the consulate by then. Here's a list of other things to do now. Sorry for broken links. Some of them changed since the posting. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

Thanks so much for directing me to the London K1 info - it's really useful

Couple of things...

1. Is it ok to go ahead and get my medical exam done before I hear anything from the London Embassy? (I'll be away from London for a few weeks while the forms get processed etc.)

2. Am I reading correctly that I require a flu shot? (I am 45 years old)

I would also like to review the medical questionnaire to assess if I need to get a report from my NHS DR before attending the medical. Do you have a working link to the questionnaire?

It's at the end of this document http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf

Other questions you don't have to have the letter, but Knightsbridge will ask you your new case number when you call to make an appointment ... LNDXXXXXXX, assigned at NVC. You will have to call. NVC and ask for the number of you don't want to wait on the letter from London.

Yes, you require a flu shot since flu season started Oct 1.

Thanks very much. Am I correct in thinking I can get the flu shot later - just as long as it is before my AOS in the US?

Also, for the question "Have you ever been hospitalized?" Do I need to provide a doctor's letter or can I just tell them at the medical what I had done and when?

You will pay a Civil Surgeon in the US to fill out a new immunization sheet if you wait. Get it all signed off on your Knightsbridge sheet and you can skip paying a civil surgeon.

If you had some kind of serious illness, surgery or treatment in a hospital, Knightsbridge may want more info from your doctor. If you were in for a broken toe, having a baby, or getting wisdom teeth pulled, then probably not.

Thanks very much.

I will get a flu shot at a chemist and take the info

My DT is within ten years

Only thing I'm unsure of now is that I had mumps and measles illness (along with chicken pox) as a child so mmr (or it's equivalent) was deemed not required. Do you know if I should get a shot (or two)? Or best if I speak to Knightsbridge first?

You must have written documentation of immunity to mumps, measles, and rubella or written documentation of a shot. Chickenpox Is the only one they will take your word on.
