Begs the question why the US would be better.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Why? Because her only contact with her dad is through FaceTime. Doesn't go to parents evening etc, lied to social services. Told his 10 yr old that his new family came before her and her brother and tries to still control me when he's remarried.

My fiancée offers a family and friend network that she doesn't have here. Job prospects for my eldesta field are better there and it was a family decision with all in favour.

However, not to seem petty but why does my reason for moving matter in relation to the question I asked?

Because the US option involves three of you moving and the issues seem complex at best.

The UK route involves it seems one moving with less or no issues.

Immigration is a two way street, the important thing is for you to be together.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Also my father has lived in the U.S. for over 18 years and I have him, 2 step-mums and a half brother over there.

Yes it's a two way street and my fiancée is willing to work 3 jobs for her family to support them and they will also have an older stepsister and her partner. As I said details not really necessary.

Details do matter, there seemingly in your case may be other options.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Firstly that doesn't make sense. Secondly I was asking about visa options. My reasons for moving have been given and I don't feel I need to give any more explanation. UK decision was based on same sex law rulings - now that is not an issue.

Therefore I think I will now terminate this thread.

Your choice.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
