I read this and almost laughed, like "I know my man has seen sweaters that are not wool, but not that many"... he's coming to Boston from absolute freezing temperatures of Russian North (they got snow already), so I think it's going to be an interesting experience doing the summer clothes shopping when time comes. You know, shorts / capri / any kind of not full-length pants.

As for the places: well, walk around the town, bus stop, metro stop, nearest place to get cigars, supermarket.. and then either New Hampshire hiking (folliage is beautiful right now!), or going to see the progress of our new house (new construction, almost done!! so close!)... or Home Depot to get him all the tools he needs instead of ones he left behind. Also, probably, MIT Robotics Museum and Science Museum in Boston.

p.s. He's coming this Friday. Woot!!

Things I wanted to do when I got to the states are all the things the US is famous for...

1) have a fight with someone over a TV set in Walmart on Black Friday, while riding one of Walmart's electric mobility scooters

2) buy an AK47 and take it into Starbucks when I order my coffee (the founding fathers knew freedom would end if I couldn't go into a coffee shop carrying automatic firearms)

3) take part in an eating competition

4) own a John Deere sit on mower

Disappointed that so far I haven't done any of these, but hope to get number 4 ticked off soo

My fiancée keeps telling me that Mexican food in the States (CA) doesn't compare to Mexican food in Mexico (which is probably true) but my co-workers keep telling me that there are some very good and very authentic places in the Bay Area. So I will probably take her to a decent Mexican restaurant (not Chipoltle which she turns her nose up at )

I read through a lot of the responses and it seems like majority here are obsessed with food or supermarkets.

I've taken my wife on hiking trips, Mt Rainier, camping, walks on the waterfront, Seattle attractions, the only store she seems to love is IKEA though.

That fun stuff comes later after they have settled in, the topic is what is the first thing.....Food and some new clothes seems logical for a first

trip out of the house the next day after a very long flight.

I am SO going on hikes and we are most likely going to big trees and the beach. Basically a bunch of outdoor activities. That is mostly because we both have that interest, not everyone does:)

And ofc we are going to the supermarket, need to stock up on good food and throw away that processed, sugary BS my Fiance is eating atm (i told him to enjoy it while he can )

Got her on a snow machine the first full day. A skid steer within the week, and a bulldozer within the first month.

Took her on a week-long camping trip in the wilderness in our supercub but have never done it since. When we popped up over the mountains to come home there was 300 miles of black forest fire smoke to navigate on the way home and I decided my days as a bush pilot taking anyone else I valued were over.

When I first met her I had broken my ankle and really ###### up my shoulder crashing a bushplane in the Alaska Range. I had to come back here after the rivers froze so I could go in by snow machine and salvage the wreck. Then I went back to her in the Philippines and built a house over there.

There really isn't a reason to do the extreme stuff I was doing before and no reason to make her live it. Living in a cabin in the woods is good enough.

I guess I would take her down to the National Mall to see the White House, the Capitol, and Smithsonian museums. Most likely it would a be winter\earlier spring, so I'm hoping for a mild weather as she hates the cold

i think I may take her to the Casino nearby for some blackjack. Gambling is prohibited locally there so we'll see if she can take down the House. If not, endless crablegs will be good!

I wish there was a like button...I want to take my hubby to Walmart too, and Sam's Club and different restaurants, meaxicsn, Italian, Chinese, etc. He's not use to eating various types of food like that.
