I try really hard to keep busy....the more I think about her the longer the time appears. I just concentrate on work and the happy times I will have when she is here. Also, I talk to her everynight before I go to bed because it lets me sleep better.

yeah, I was back to the states on Sunday too (via Korean Air) . I can not do anything but talk to her on the phone , chat via yahoo IM, video chat on SKYPE. We have our web cam on like 24/7 . Here is the deal. When I get home from work, I turn my laptop on and cam on, she then can view it. I also have access to her PC, so I can view her wc too, even she's still sleeping. I just lay on bed and watch her until I fall asleep. when she wakes up, she starts watching me sleeping plus some chinese movie sometimes. when I wake up, talk to her for about 30 minutes or an hour. then i turn off my laptop and go to work. when I get to work, turn my laptop back on and start viewing her web cam and chatting via Yahoo IM . so spritually we are in touch 24/7 ...... I dont want to mention here about the XXX stuffs .

Imagine the couples many years ago that were apart and had NO visual communication. You can even take it further back and imagine when phone calls were SUPER expensive and email did not exist.

The internet and general communication today has improved to the point where we are virtually close to one another. Just imagine not having any of these and we had to resort to writing love letters again that required overseas delivery. I just keep these thoughts in my mind when I miss her physical presence.

Totally agree with you! Our generation is spoiled with the greatest and latest consumer technology advance. I could not imagine what you said how older couples went through their long distance relationship where the only mean of communication was mail carrier that took months to get there. That could explain why most folks in the old days marry people within their own village :) Too much effort for travelling and stuff! Not us, the broadband-hifi-wifi-hidef-decaf-late-terrabite-live-streaming-satellite-ipod-double-shots-hybrid-blackberry-typer-multitasker-instant-messenger-blogger-forum-chatter-global-cyber-sex-partner-and-lovers, we want all and get it rightway or 6-Hour-Clock-Action-News is old news! We want instant and constantly hooked up to the internet and in the know! I can't imagine! BUT thank God for the internet! What would we do with ourselves, I don't know!

For now, for the distance global lovers, who recently returned from the land of love, just take sometimes to refocus and readjust to the reality! I went through this whole thing and I was the wore of all, took me 2 months or more to realize that I was no longer in VN, get my mind of it and focus on the job. Reality check: no job - no sponsor, no sponsor - no Visa, no visa - no travel, no travel - no reunited, in the end only me who is the loser out of this deal if I don't get back in focus ASAP. I did after 2 months. Internet Phones and Yahoo daily! Then got really angry at the wait and frustrated. You will go throu the motion of ups and downs during this whole process. The one thing that helps me get through it was this VJ family! The outpour support was never forgoten. There are some crazy lovers on this forums baby! They'll feel you and teach you how to deal with your emotion and how to deal with being apart.

For example, people told me about Skype, I didn't know about it until Kim came here, wish I did know about it long before. But do like what you guys have been doing, Asking questions, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. I do give stupid answer sometimes... Note to self: stop it Chuck! HAHAHA :D

Bottomline is, what doesn't kill you, will eventually makes you want to kill it! Focus and keep yourself busy, someone mentions: the GYM. You should join the gym or you'd be sitting on your computer 24hrs over the weekend just to watch her, and stopping her from going and doing her daily chores. Helps her out too! She's going through the samething you are....

Good luck and lot of love from Chuck and Kim

I can relate and would end up spending hours on the phone. We finally ended up doing more Yahoo Messenger each day to try and cut the $600 a month phone bill down.

Last year after I met and left her (April 2006), my long distance fee was minimum 1000 $ /month . We talked for hours on the phone . It has been like that for about 8,9 months. Couple months ago we found out Skype and Yahoo , that saved me alot of money . I'm at work at keep staring her web cam . eventhough she's sleeping now . I just want to quit everything and be with her .....

I feel you! I miss my wife so much too. I had $400-$500 a month phone bills too until I set up Skype Video between us last July. We also have our webcams on most of the time. It's weird but I know that we communicate more than couples that are physically together. I'll be visiting her at the end of April for a few weeks so that keeps me going. I always have the worse case of missing her the first few weeks we part. It stabilizes after that. Hang in there. Just keep telling yourself that what you're doing now is preparing for your future together.

Sometimes we leavd the webcam on even when we are not there, or are asleep or whatever. It's comforting to hear the other person's noises.
