Canadian Grocery List....

My husband is the Canadian in our house, and these are things he has already told me that he must take with him or have sent to him:

Maynards Wine Gums (he LOVES them, to me they are the nastiest thing I have ever tasted!..LOL)

Passion Flakies

WUNDERBARS

Loney's Onion Soup Mix

Ketchup Chips

C-Plus Wink

and of course Tim Hortons Coffee!

also had to add that my husband will miss Swiss Chalet (I dont like it at all) will have to stock up on the dry packet mixes for him

he will also miss Fries and Gravy from Costco.

I will miss Shoppers Drug Mart, I love their points system

Oh and the White Cream Soda Mr. Freezies. I can get Otter Pops here which are pretty much the same, but they don't have the white cream soda ones...

I was also going to mention Herr's Ketchup chips, but someone beat me to it. My fiancee(wife if reading this past 2pm on Saturday) doesn't like ketchup chips, so it's okay. Oddly enough, she did mention dream whip yesterday.

Honestly, I just miss having HFCS free foods and drinks. That ####### makes everything here in the US about 10 times sweeter than back home, and everything just tastes yucky. I miss Pepsi, and decent bread and and and...

I can't find crumpets...

You can usually find them in the bread/bakery section of a supermarket (I've seen them at Wegman's and Giant here--and in Atlanta and Memphis, I've seen them at Kroger).

HAHA! My siblings proudly showed my fiancé that on the Shreddies box it says something like "Only made in Canada" - or actually now that I think of it maybe it was the Just Right box. (And he liked both kinds of cereal, lol)

Precisely....just put it in a cooler packed with lots of ice and ice packs! It helps to keep the other foods in the cooler cold too. Lol..reminds me of our old dating days, where I would pack bagged milk and other foods from Canada in the cooler for (my now husband) D to take home with him back home with him to the USA (a three hour drive from where I was in Canada to where he was in the USA).... .

Note to others: When taking food over the border, check with the Canadian/American border customs to see if there are any limits of how much food exactly you can bring over.....

Good luck on your immigration journeys! My, look how quickly this message thread has grown! Keep up the good work in adding to our "Canadian Grocery Shopping List"! This is fun! I never knew there were so many Canadian foods out there that you all enjoy....

Now, does anyone know how many items we have so far on our "Canadian Grocery List" so far? Let's continue filling up our "Canadian Grocery Cart" with lots of food! And by the looks of it, I think we might need a U-Haul Truck, instead of a grocery cart to store all that Cannucky food!

OMG don't laugh...my fiancé drove cartons of Horizon organic milk into Canada for me weekly because it tasted so much better than the milk in Canada. In a cooler. That and Tillamook cheese.

I love Horizon milk - the first time I had it, I remembered what milk used to taste like when I was growing up. Organic is definitely better in this case!
