Why do you obsess over that? Whether this shooter targeted christians specifically or not it can hardly be argued that Christians are an endangered species. Nor that they should all madly rush out and buy a gun.

I am not Black, nor have I ever raped 'your women.' You didn't use the term 'justified' so yes, that is my words, however it appears to be the only logical explaination for what you have said here in regards to that particular statement ascribed to the shooter. And the basis for the Carolina shooter, even if we accept the argument Black rape was his number one concern and reason for action, would at its heart be the racist misconception that there is some sort of horrible crisis of Black men raping White women. At its core this would be a subset of his racist beliefs. Not anything else. Especially not a valid reason to shoot a bunch of people in a Church [guess you don't see them as Christian? because you surely only see them as Black rapists/and or potential future Black rapists] if your logic here is to be followed.

When you comment, you seem to blend anyone and everyone together as some sort of like minded group, and blend comments about one thing with another, the only connection being your apparent inability to form coherent paragraphs. This leaves your readers grasping at what the heck you are trying to say. Correct me if I am wrong, but see above, I think after 'confederate flag' you moved seamlessly into some sort of commentary on the reporting of the shooting in Oregon.

I don't see news media burying the angle of the Oregon shooter having an apparent problem with organized religion in general, Christianity in particular. As a general rule, Christians are not killed in this country 'just because' they are Christian. I distinctly recall this bogus story being bandied about way back at the Columbine shooting. Turned out to be a huge wad of malarky. Not saying that in the shootings in Oregon that the shooter never asked if his victims were Christian, or used special bullets, extra bullets, or what when he got an affirmative response to the supposed question.

In America, as a general rule, Christians are killed because we have a proliferation of guns in the hands of the mentally infirm, as well as a-holes. Even if we assume the shooter was targeting Christians in the Oregon incident, the victims would be a very tiny minority of the Christians killed in America simply for being Christian.

CNN)The apparent online writings of the mother of the man who killed nine people at a community college in Oregon discuss guns and the autism spectrum, painting a partial picture of the environment the family lived in, their beliefs and the challenges they faced.

Online posts linked to Laurel Harper, mother of the gunman, are limited and incomplete, but they seem to indicate two things: that her son, Chris Harper-Mercer, had a developmental disorder, and that the family had a familiarity with firearms and gun laws.

On Tuesday, a spokesman for the agencies looking into last week's fatal shooting told CNN that investigators are aware of Harper's alleged social media postings and her son's online writings. Sgt. Jeff Eichenbusch of Roseburg police said that Harper is part of the investigation, just as would be any person who was close to the gunman.

Laurel Harper's apparent online writings come in the form of posts to several websites, usually about health topics. The bulk of the postings were on forums such as Yahoo! Answers and comments on Nurse

Public records link Harper to the same email address used in these posts from a Yahoo! user calling herself "Tweety Bird."

The postings, first reported by The New York Times, make references to Harper having a son who has a disorder on the autism spectrum and of the family having strong pro-gun views.

In response to a question posted on Yahoo! Answers three years ago, the account linked to Harper complains about "lame states" that consider a loaded magazine inside the home the same as having a loaded gun.

"I keep all my mags full. I keep two full mags in my Glock case. And the ARs & AKs all have loaded mags. No one will be 'dropping' by my house uninvited without (acknowledgment)," the user Tweety Bird wrote.

In another post, answering a hypothetical question of how gunmen might be charged and sentenced, Tweety Bird argues which gun laws would apply, citing "my son, who has much knowledge in this field."

That post was from six years ago.

While dispensing advice on handling anxiety five years ago, Harper purportedly wrote online that "I have Asperger's and I didn't do so bad. Wasn't easy (understatement) but it can be done."

Autism spectrum disorders can cause significant social impairments, communication problems and restricted, repetitive behavior patterns. But studies have shown there is no direct link between Asperger's and violence. The question was also raised three years ago, after Adam Lanza, who was said to have Asperger's, killed 26 children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
