Hello.

I had asked this of a moderator, who then suggested that I create a post here about the topic.

We just recently filed our I-129F. When I prepared our submission, I used many of the sample forms and letters found here on Visa Journey for various things. One thing that I noticed with the samples is that things were not necessarily uniform in font and layout (perhaps I'm a bit OCD). I went ahead and changed the formatting of everything we sent to be uniform in appearance as far as headings, fonts, and layout. What I would like to do is to create a .zip file that users could download, that would have all of the needed Word documents in one file. What I would include would be a pretty complete I-129F checklist, cover letter, question 34a supplement sample, letters of intent, and section dividers with a list of section content. I submitted mine with the section dividers, but people could use them just for section organization while they are compiling everything, basically as a checklist for a given section. Of course everyone would need to edit the documents for the specifics of their own I-129F submission, but at least this could give them a head start and maybe save some time and effort.

I have been helped so much in our process by the members around here, and I would really like to give something back for others. I was told that Captain Ewok is the one who would have the final say in this, but I wanted to see what everyone else thinks about the idea. So, thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks!

One pitfall is that unless you are constantly monitoring and updating all the files within the .zip file then at some point it becomes outdated.

Yes, some of the things could change over time, but the file would not be including any of the USCIS forms that actually have expiration dates, this would only be for some of the supporting letters and/or documents, which from what I have found for examples haven't changed much in many years. Of course it's up to the end user to make sure that they are submitting the proper documentation, and they should always be following the current instructions from the USCIS site.
