Hello everyone!

As promised in another post I wanted to post a short intro for Jon and Myself! I (Kat) am the US Petitioner and Jon is the Beneficiary from across the pond in beautiful England!

We met originally while playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (such a long title) in September 2013 when his Free Company (guild) merged with mine. We became fast friends because he always was able to make me laugh and really made me enjoy logging into the game! If anyone else plays FFXIV you know how hard the crafting system was back in the day and he helped me (and even literally sat there watching me) level all my crafting skills to max level! It was during this time that we became even closer chatting about our lives and by the time my last craft (Armorsmith) hit level 50 we decided to take the plunge and meet in person!

Our first meeting (now we use it as our official relationship anniversary date) was February 6th 2014 when I first picked him up from the TPA airport in Tampa! I rushed to hug him and from that point forward our first visit, even though it was just 11 days was the best time I have ever had! By the end of the trip we knew that we had the real thing!

We have since flown back and forth for a total of 6 short visits (each usually about 2 weeks due to work constraints) with another visit upcoming for Thanksgiving! My family likes him which is a huge + since I am close with my family and, to put it bluntly, they are super judgmental, so this was a huge relief. Although my family doesn't like the distance, they understand where my heart is and his family is on board as well (much easier to win them over since they have a free vacation spot to stay in in sunny Florida).

I look forward to the journey and sharing each of it with you. We won't be filing for a while yet but I am currently in the process of gathering all the necessary documents and trying to get all my ducks in a row before we start! Government paperwork stresses me out... you should have seen how crazy I went just over my FAFSA all those years ago when I had to file for Financial Aid for school! I am sure I will be a regular of reading the forums and will probably create a second life within the super helpful UK Subforum which I already read on almost a daily basis!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

What a lovely story. I never played the Final Fantasy MMORPG, but always wanted to try it. At the time I was consumed with WoW, so couldn't justify paying for another! Good luck with your journey, and be sure to keep us updated.

Thank you both for your kind words and warm welcome! I will definitely be posting a lot of updates and probably a ton of clarifying questions once we get going with the paperwork.

This forum really is amazing and I just want to greatly thank all the people who created it and all the people who continually work to keep it up to date and so HELFPUL! You are all rockstars in my book!!!
