VJs, we just received an email from NVC with a checklist attached. They are saying that they will forward the case to the embassy and that I should bring with me the documents missing. Does that mean my case is completed???

The other thing is: they checklisted us for missing the 2014 W-2, but then again hubby hasn't been working in the US since 2012, therefore no W-2s :/ What should we do? Is it possible that they just made a mistake/got confussed??

Congrats, hope u get ur interview soon.

Cool! I will be able to attend my husband's interview!

Dear Ms.****

Thank you for your email. In order to come to the consular section, please email us the date of the interview of Mr. **** You will not be able to attend the interview, if not requested by the consular officer but you will be able to enter the waiting room.

Oh, so glad for you! According to this letter you should email them back about interview date? No other way like to schedule it on Embassy site?

I just really confused about next step after NVC, thinking forward what to do and what to expect.

What do you think can anyone come with me to interview, like mom? My husband won`t be able to join me and some relative face can help a lot. I know no one is allowed to be with me at interview, but at least in waiting room?

You should hear something this week or next week.

If not call.

Is the 8th the date they said they received your documents in an email?

It is rare to see documents being received and scanned by NVC same day as the day sent.

. The email was on 9/10 , 9/8 is the date that they received the documents for the checklist

I just want to make sure I'm doing this right...

I am the petitioner. I fill out I-864

My father is the joint sponsor since I don't make enough money. He fills out I-864A correct?

I don't want to send in the wrong papers. Does my dad ALSO send in his own I-864 or just me?

Thanks!

So upset :( Our case is not completed yet. Apparently they are missing my police certificates and my birth certificate, which is just stupid!!! They were in the AOS package along with the marriage certifcate and 2 pictures of me!

We called NVC and asked to talk to a supervisor. The lady was nice and said that she will ask the people that reviewed our papers to re-open the file and see if the documents are completely missing or it's just something wrong with them.

I told her that i'm 110% sure that I sent those documents and that our case number is on every single paper, on the right top corner. She couldn't tell me though when to call back but i'm freaking calling tomorrow and will be bugging them.

Hubby is reading right now online that you can actually request for expedite if NVC are losing your papers. Any of you did that before? Did it work? I'm so disappointed right now :(

Hi.

You are going to fill out I-864. Your dad will fill out I-864A IF he resides in the same household/residence as you. If you do not live with your dad, he will fill out his own I-864.

Did u get any checklist?

I am guessing this is a new trend at nvc. I had been through this. I got a checklist for missing marriage certificate which I sent in iv package but according to them they never received one. Even I request for a expedite but they refused.

It doesn't seem likely to me that they allow anyone besides the beneficiary or the petitioner, a US citizen, to attend the interview. But it never hurts to email them and ask.

As far as I understand, all IR/CR files are in the same boat and we can not schedule appointments by ourselves. The embassy does that for us.
