Timeline

Just to add in my personal experience with getting my case number:

If you see my timeline below, you will see that it basically took me 2-3 days to receive my case number from the day they received it, in which I calculated by Julian dates in my case number (the 3 numbers after the year in your case number).

All I did was simply ask for my case number and invoice number.

At the time that I called, I pressed option two, that asks for invoice number and choosing an agent.

So it is possible that you may not be very specific with your question, as the reason why they keep telling you to wait or call back next week.

I easily believe the fact that as soon as they receive your case, it is entered into the system.

When they tell you to wait a little while, I think it is simply because the agents are trained to say that.

I hope this helps.

Сongrats on your approve! Wait for a week and start calling them, asking, if they have received your case yet, every day, or every other day, depending on how impatient you are ;)

Hopefully, in 2-3 weeks your case will be received at NVC and in another week or so you will be assigned the case #. Best luck with your process!

Question about photocopies we submit to the NVC:

Do they have to be notarized/certified photocopies of the original documents, or will a simple photocopy suffice?

Thanks

Simple photocopies will do.

The originals are not needed until the interview.

Scan date september 8 ,no cc yet....

You should hear something this week or next week.

If not call.

Is the 8th the date they said they received your documents in an email?

It is rare to see documents being received and scanned by NVC same day as the day sent.
