Hey can you please guide me whIch number did you press after calling them? I called them today but it was a recorded message saying they're working on other customers, please call later... I haven't received any welcome letter from NVC about my case number and all.. Kind of upset :( also tell me when did you receive noa2? I saw my status on the website that my case was sent to the department of state on October 13th..

I tell you a trick of calling NVC. When you dial and hear "we have a large amount of calling..." or something, hang up asap. Re-dial again and again until you hear "your call may be recorded....", then wait and press 1 for English. Sometimes I got through after 20 re-dials, there was 1 time I got through with the first call. Good luck

Let me share with you my trick on how to get through to NVC without waiting for half an hour to be answered. I would start calling at 6:58 EST, hang up, when the answering machine said "our normal business hours..." and repeat the dial right away. After 3-4 calls I would finally get to "thank you for calling", and the waiting time would be only a couple of minutes, because this is how you turned to get to the top of the waiting list. Enjoy!

So happy, that nerve wracking time is over for me :luv:

So just to put my info out there for anyone else waiting...

NOA2 on September 18 at Nebraska

NVC received October 5

Got my case number and IIN on 10/19 (Called everyday until they had it! Haha)

Filled out DS 261 immediately on 10/19 but couldn't pay AOS fee until 10/20. Then I decided to be a little risky and sent out the AOS/IV packages last Wednesday and they arrived 10/22. Now I've been calling every day trying to get my DS-261 reviewed and they keep telling me it's locked because it's so new and to try next week so I guess I'll be trying some more. As long as I get it reviewed, get IV bill and fill out DS-260 before they review my documents I should be fine. Ah well, more fun holding on the phone I guess!

You are fine.

You are welcomed to send the docs immediately after paying the AOS fee.

So when they tell you they received it...count 30 days from that!

It will be another week or two before they can unlock the case, but then things should be moving smoothly from then.

Good luck!

Hello guys, NVC received my case on Oct 26th! How long does it normally take to get a case number?

Wait two weeks before calling.

It really varies as to how long, 2-4 weeks is the norm.

Good luck!

Just to add on to this, I got thru after 7 tries almost everytime by calling at the top of the hour but hanging up after 4 seconds of listening to the "busy message". However, I would only call around 2pm EST, 8pm EST, 10pm EST or 11pm EST. My wait time was never more than 22 minutes, unless I called on a Friday (do not call on a Friday--I waited 40 minutes)

Good luck!

Our iv and aos was received by nvc and signed for by n.naomi last Thurs. (10-22). On the address my husband put attn:cmr aos instead of just putting in attn:dr has anyone here knows if this will be a big problem? We still havent got any notification if they did received it planning to give it till friday to call again when i asked nvc about this she said it will take longer for them to track the papers as the dept that we put in was unexistent im just hoping that it wont get lost and somebody will realize that those papers are for direct reviewing, such a bummer we dont have any other copies of some of its contents. ???

It is not a difference. It goes to the same location.

I have a question (for anyone who happens to know)

I am attempting to get everything together for the interview (which isn't for quite a while)

on the checklist it says "Evidence of support" for the I-864 should I bring mine, or just the Joint sponsors since I am currently 'unemployed'.

Or should I just bring a second copy of my entire AoS packet?

Bring both a copy of yours and a copy of your joint sponsor's just to be safe. And yes, a copy of your entire AOS packet is safest.

Hey guys. So I tried to call NVC today for my case number and it was a recorded message saying that they're busy with other customers please call later..

Keep trying. Based on my experience, the best times to call are 2pm EST, 8pm EST, 10pm EST, and 11pm EST. They stop taking calls around 11:30pm EST, always getting thru after more than one try--my average was 7 tries. Hang up immediately after noticing that is it the busy message instead of regular message.

Hello guys, NVC received my case on Oct 26th! How long does it normally take to get a case number?

NVC said they receive my case on Oct 9th and I just got my case number today (Oct- 26th). I would say wait until a week but you never know if it might happen so I called once the first week after they received the case then on the 2nd week call the starting and ending of the week. Then called today and the guy told me they had just put it in today and he then gave me case number. good luck!

And it'll take 4weeks for them to get it in the system and then we can give you the case number and IIN number. She said you'll receive a letter and you could call and we'd give it on the phone once we get it..

Good Morning all:

I called NVC for a DS-261 phone review yesterday and this morning. Both times I was told that my file could not be opened and it was being worked on. I was advised to call later in the week.

Are they actually working on my case or is there some glitch preventing the phone review?

Any thoughts?

Much appreciated!

I am putting all of my documents together to send to the NVC. When they ask for Marriage termanation documents is that for my husband, myself or both?

He has not been married before but I was.

I sent my divorce papers with the initial i-130, but am not clear if I need to send them to NVC.

My impression is that all documents being sent to NVC are pertaining to my husband (the beneficiary).

Hello!

Even if you put any document already into I-130 petition package, it doesn`t matter - you should put the same copies of certificates to NVC package again.

For your IV package you should put your immigrationg spouse documents, this colliction is about your husband! He is coimg to you, right? So it`s his divorce papers should be put there. If he was never married before - don`t put anything.

And sometimes its better to put more then they ask, so I would put all copies again, about yourself (your divorce) and about about your husband. If they don`t need it, they will throw it away. Don`t send them any original docs and don`t forget to write your names and ID number on every copy you send them.
