Randomly checked the Ceac website and saw the magical 3 N/A's ....This was around 4am. No kidding... I literally stayed up till 7am just so I could call to confirm it. I'm so happy. Even though Jamaica is taking 4mths from CC to interview, right now I'm just thankful to be on the home stretch.

I just completed Ds260 2 weeks ago so I did not expect this :) Congrats to everyone getting Interview dates and for those vjers still waiting... I'm praying good news will come to you soon. Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Hi guys can you please explain the difference between I-864 and I-864ez. I'm a litlle be confused. Thx

Hi dorchar11! If you go to this website: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.htmlyou will find the explanation for the different forms of AOS.

For example:

All three of the following are true:

  1. You filed a Form I-130 petition for your relative;
  2. There is only one applicant on the Form I-130 petition; and
  3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

Complete Form I-864EZ

You can find this information under Complete an Affidavit of Support Form.

Hope it helps!

In same both too! 63 days at NVC now and yet no CC, all for their mistake. They misplaced my package and asked my hubby a new one. They found it later after my husband sent a new package. It's not fair!

first scan date is 17th August.

Hi Nkkystel! I know how you feel and I completely agree with you, it's just not fair! We decided to send again the missing documents and we got a new scan date. We'll see how this one goes... I'm losing my patience and told my husband that if there is one more issue with this whole process, I'll just give up. I don't need to be in the US and I don't really want to live there to be honest.

But oh well, we shall see!

Are you guys calling them daily? Did you try and ask for expedite since it was their fault that they lost your package?

Hello!

So I finally managed to get my call through at NVC and was informed that they haven´t received my case yet :(

Anyways, the attendant adviced me to scan our NOA2 and email it to nvcresearch@state.gov that we´d be emailed back as soon as they had our file and a case number + invoice. We´ve done that.

My question is: can I trust it or should I keep calling on a fdaily basis? It´s been 13 days since our case was approved at USCIS.

And does anyone know how long it´s taken for the process to arrive from California Service Center to NVC and then how many days until we have a case number assigned?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi adaniel! I do not want to disappoint you, but from what I understood here on the forum, the CSC is being the slowest center to send the cases to NVC. If I was you, I would give them another 10-14 days and start calling again. Or if you're really impatient, call them in 1 week.

About the case # and IIN being assigned, I think the trend right now it's around 2 weeks after NVC scans in your case. I might be wrong though and maybe the other VJs that got approved recently can give you precise information about this.

But don't worry just yet :)

I appreciate it, IonelaC.!

I´ll wait about two more weeks before calling again. I´m just feeling anxious, specially as the Holidays season approaches and I can´t be with my husband. It is what it is, though. I won´t worry...just try to keep busy and not think about it for a while.

But I also must add this;

Do I need to add the IV and AOS fee receipts to my packages?

Hi everyone, please I need your help with this question.

I just had a baby 30th September 2015 and my case (F2A) was completed first week of October. Pd 29th August 2014. Issue now is how do I get a visa for my baby. My husband called NVC and the lady replied saying we can add her to the case (which means they will reopen my completed case ) and we have to pay another application fee.

The issue now is

does reopening the case have any effect on my priority date. Because I can't afford to be given a new pd.

Is it possible to get a visit visa for her at the time of my interview.

I have also heard about derivative visa. Is this the process that NVC is requesting?

thank you all for your urgent responses.

Hi Tayjus93! I'm sorry, I'm not able to answer your first question! I'm not Canadian and I'm not sure exactly what's best in your case. Maybe some fellow Canadian VJs can help you with that ? Anyone?

As for this second question: yes, you need to add that AOS barcoded sheet that you get after you pay the fee. Just that is enough. You don't have to wait to pay the IV fee and then print that barcoded page also. I'm not sure if you saw this wiki before: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process? It's really useful and explains all the steps in their correct order. Have a look there! :) Good luck!

If you're sending hardcopies by mail, I would get a proper photocopy done somewhere. The short form is not acceptable.

If you're sending via email, you could see if you can do two scans and have it as one, 2-page document, or possibly you could take a pic on your phone and save it as a PDF.

The pages you need to include in your packages are the IV cover sheet and AOS cover sheet. They come in the email with subject lines US DoS - AOS Cover page for Case [CASENUMBER] and US DoS - IV Application Cover Page for Case [CASENUMBER] (or you can print them from the CEAC receipt page) and they say "DOCUMENT COVER SHEET" right on there, one has Attn: CMR AOS in the address near the bottom (AOS cover page) and one has just Attn: CMR in the address (IV Application cover page).

Exactly what I told my hubby that I do not really wish to live in the US.

Yeah, he calls daily. He got transferred to a supervisor but still can't speak with any yet. I'm F2a and would be current by January 2016, my PD is 14th, July 2014. Why am not really bothered yet is becos I'm pregnant and will be due by same January 2016.
