Thank you for the advice, I will start gathering the documents you mention :)

How long are the Canadian police checks good for? If I were to have my husband get his now, I worry about it expiring before we are through.

6 months i believe! :)

According to the DOS site, http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued.

Someone please tell me how do we know if someone reviewed ds-261 over the phone. Do we get any email confirmation about it? I called yesterday and the rep. told me that he had done reviewing my ds-261 after put me on hold less than 1 minute. So far I do not get any confirmation about that. Thanks

I did get an email with the IV invoice when the IV fee became payable, the following day. I think it was more than 24 hours afterwards, but it was the following day. So keep checking online :)

I called NVC to confirm that my case was completed which they did confirm it was complted yesterday. I also just received an email from NVC for a checklist. It states that we should take W2s for 2014 to the interview ( we submitted tax transcripts for the past three years). It specifically states that the document should be taken to the interview so thank God this has not created any delays.

Yuppp, same here! Well, not exactly the same. Scan date, 9th of Sept and got checklisted because they managed to lose our documents :) We got put on supervisor review on the 4th of Oct, after we complained that it's not fair to get checklisted for their mistake. Of course, we are still waiting for them to find our documents but in the meantime we did send another set of documents.
Honestly, you freaking out it won't help solve your case sooner. Just calm down, call them on Monday and insist to talk to the supervisor that is handling your case. Explain what's the situation and see what they will say.
Don't get me wrong, i'm also pissed off and was in a bit of a depression the week after the checklist, but being like that it aint helping with anything. Just makes things worse. So, relax, take a deep breath and don't worry! We are close to the finish line :)

thats what Im doing , I dont gonna worry any more.... It is what It is ... i just send the documents again , will wait for 15 days and then will call the NVC every day.

Hello all, I want to first say that my IV fee says paid! I paid for it on Saturday (the 17th) and today it says paid! I am about to sit down and do the DS-260

however I have a question about the supporting Documents package...

My husband is Canadian-- and from what I've read they want his 'long form birth certificate' (we have both the long and short form) Problem is... his long form is about 1.5 pages in length, therefore I can't just copy it at home on to one normal sheet. Should I...

A. Go to office max (etc.) and request a full length copy

B. Copy it on to 2 separate pages

C. Send copy of 'short' form

Please help, I don't want to have to resend anything. Thanks all. and good luck

Hi bond1980! No, my case is not closed yet, unfortunately!

So, we are also on supervisor review and after waiting for almost 2 weeks for them to find our "missing" documents, we decided to send them again anyways. We thought that what if after 42 days they will tell us that they couldn't find our documents? It will be 42 days wasted for nothing! So, we sent again the police certificates and my birth certificate (these were the "missing" files) and on the 14th they received them. I assume that reseted our scan date, again! Our first scan date was 9th of September and now it's 14th of October. My husband will call tomorrow morning and see if he can get a supervisor on the line and he is planning to ask for expedite, since it was their fault that they lost our documents.

I can't tell you honestly what's the best thing to do, but from our point of view it was better to just send them the papers again and wait for 30 days for them to process again our case and hopefully get a CC.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

thank you for your reply..i have a question did you send letter with your document explaining that like this the second time you are sending or something..??

No, we did not send a letter, even though i have to admit it's not a bad idea. We just included the documents and the checklist letter that we got from them. We also wrote our case number on every single page, on the top right corner, but that's about it :)

In same both too! 63 days at NVC now and yet no CC, all for their mistake. They misplaced my package and asked my hubby a new one. They found it later after my husband sent a new package. It's not fair!

first scan date is 17th August.
