On the busy days (right after/before the weekend) ive had to call 30-40 times in a row hang up, redial, hang up, redial and then wait on hold 10-20-30 mins. Once up to an hour when i called a little before closing, good thing i have US long distance on my cell phone haha.

I find between 9-11 am PST is best for wait times.

We resubmitted our documents by email on October 11th after having initially submitted them September 7th. And after repeated calls and being told it would be fine, we were finally told on Friday October 9th when calling NVC that we should resubmit as it doesn't look like they would be found. The rep we spoke to did send our case to be looked at by a supervisor to see if they could find the original mail.

Got an email this morning that they received our Email October 12th. I just called into the NVC and was basically told there is nothing to do. That we need to wait 30 days from the 12th. I said okay but that I was told to resubmit after you guys basically lost our original emails and that on Friday I was told it should take less time now, etc. (I was even told it should take a supervisor 7 days to look into our mail). Now he said 30 days from the 12th for the second mail and that the supervisor can take upto 42 days to look into the original mail from the day we called (October 9th). So he said that it is with a "higher" power and that we have all our bases covered and that the new mail will probably be touched before the supervisor does anything (told me we are saving 15 days right there....but after wasting over 30 days the first time when they told me everything was fine)....

Guess I wait for now...will call next week but they don't seem to be able to do anything. Sorry for the rant.

But anyways, I am not sure I recommend anyone submitting by email as they don't have much way to track it when they get it. This time we got a receipt but when I asked about it the first time when I got nothing they said it is hit or miss and you don't always get one. They have no way to track till someone starts working on it. And in our case they seem to have basically lost both emails we sent at the same time (one for AOS and one for IV). Not sure how you lose an email...

Well, for good or for ill, I didn't wait until my IV fee showed PAID to send in the AOS and IV packages. I spent about 5 hours scanning and squaring everything away, and I just wanted it to be done. WIth luck I can start my DS-260 on Monday or Tuesday and everything will be hunky-dory.

This may be a pretty silly question, but how does everyone log into the DOS website to view their case summary? I know this is the link:

https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

But I'm confused about how to get to the main case page. Can I click on either the submit DS-261, DS-260 or Fee payment options?

I'm asking because on the NVC wiki it says not to access your DS-261 form once you completed it, as it resets the time on it. So I just want to make sure clicking on the "submit DS-261" to access case summary won't reset it?

Did anyone notice while filling the new I-864 AOS forms, under the fill income tab,

I noticed that you cannot input the decimal point hence not being able to type in the full amount on my returns with the cents included..

Does this matter or do I have to print the form out and manually write the amount with the decimal point ( for cents) on it.

Thanks

US tax returns do not have decimals, anyway. It's always a whole dollar amount in 1040. No cents.
