Where did you get the information about electronic filing? I have not heard that from anyone, nor have i seen it anywhere... huh, weird. I just called and had the DS-261 reviewed manually... The lady was very rude and not very helpful. Atleast the ds261 is out of the way. How long does it generally take for the IV fee to be made payable?

You can choose either efiling or send it by mail, i chose to mail mine. Tried doing research on here to find if either one was reported to be faster but there isnt much to go by. What i didnt like about the efiling is that once you send it thats it and theres no way for the reps to track if its been received until someone starts to review it (or at least from what i read on posts here). Personal preference :)

BTW could we get some CC's here pleaseeeeee, scan date of Sept 22nd, tick tock tick tockkk.. last one i saw posted here was for Sept 17th i believe

your case # starts with MTL right? take a look here at the NVC website about efiling. http://www.travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html. Your IV bill should generate in a day or two now.

Yes it begins with MTL. And I see what you meant by E-filing now. I have read that, but also seen in the forums where emails tend to take "longer to review". Would you suggest I do both? or just one over the other?

It does seem like they are stuck on September 17. We both have the same scan date, I have been doing my routine check at least twice a day to see if this magical NA has finally appeared.

Thanks Nicole, I agree with your choice, I'll probably do it the 'old fashion way' as well. Just something about it seems more concrete. Keep me updated with your case and the interview. Montreal is our consulate as well! Since they don't recognize the embassy in Ottawa. Good luck!

Just a note on nomenclature: an Embassy is always in the capital city--US Embassy in Canada is in Ottawa. That's where the Ambassador is. There are US Consulates in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, Halifax, etc. It's all Department of State.

K1 visa interviews are held in Vancouver or Montreal depending where you live, but CR1/IR1 are centralized in Montreal only.

It's a big pain in the you-know-what, too.
