I haven't seen anyone lately, whose case was received before 2 weeks after the approval, though. You can sit still for about 3 weeks.

For some reason, there is one timeline in particular that I "follow" since it started out very similar to mine and they had their case received days after the NOA2 somehow!! Doesn't it just burn you up when that happens? :P

USCIS

2015-08-22: Sent I-130

2015-09-01: NOA1; USCIS Received and transferred to CSC (e-mail)

2015-09-22: NOA2; USCIS approval & sent to NVC (21 days from NOA1)

NVC

2015-10-14: Case received by NVC (Found out this date on Oct 19th via phone) (22 days after NOA2)

2015-11-15: Received NVC Welcome Letter (Letter dated Oct 30th)

2015-12-11: Received IV and AOS invoices

2016-02-02: Mailed payment for both

2016-03-23: Started re-establishing my US domicile & joint sponsor

2016-05-30: Finally got all my documentation of domicile and sponsor financial information, sent off IV/AOS email

2016-06-14: NVC requested a new copy of applicant's birth certificate - we sent the "short" one instead of the "long" one - my mistake!

2016-07-08: 3 N/A's!!!

2016-07-13: Received the NVC "case complete" e-mail

2016-07-20: Interview appointment letter!

2016-08-24: Immigration medical

2016-08-30: Interview date - APPROVED!!

Yay, I was finally able to review my DS-261 and now I'm just waiting for the IV fee to be payable on the website. We should be able to email off the AOS and IV stuff tomorrow or Saturday, and I can do my DS-260, and then I can start the clock on the NEXT wait :D

I just paid aos fee today and submitted ds-261 yesterday. How long should I wait to start calling about reviewing ds-261. Should I wait until aos fee shows PAID? Thank you guys

I am ever so slightly confused on what to do next. I paid my AoS fee and filed my DS261 on the 5th. On the 8th the AoS fee said paid. Now what are the next steps? There are too many different 'answers'.

i was under the immpression that you need to send the AoS packet before paying the IV fee?

most people send them together but Canada is electronic filing correct? So I don't think it matters. Since AOS is paid you can send the AOS packet using the cover sheet generated. But do call and get DS-261 reviewed, it will save you a lot of time.

Where did you get the information about electronic filing? I have not heard that from anyone, nor have i seen it anywhere... huh, weird. I just called and had the DS-261 reviewed manually... The lady was very rude and not very helpful. Atleast the ds261 is out of the way. How long does it generally take for the IV fee to be made payable?

your case # starts with MTL right? take a look here at the NVC website about efiling. http://www.travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html. Your IV bill should generate in a day or two now.
