I have a bit of a problem- more or less a worry. I am currently a student, no income etc. Last year I had a part time job that only lasted a few months (I didnt make enough to file) I have a joint sponsor. Is it okay that I do not send anything along with my filled out I864? No W2 or anything... I just feel like that looks really bad...):

If I`m not mistaken NVC asks for a letter from you where you should explaine why you didn`t make money and didn`t file taxes. If you have a joint sponsor you have nothing to worry about.

I just called NVC. The women I spoke to still can't see if they have our documents. We sent them by email at night on September 7th, so call it September 8th. She told me she is not sure if they got them. She said she asked a supervisor and they can't see them. She said to give it a bit more time or I can resend them. Or even resend them by mail. But then we have just lost 30 days for nothing. She told me to wait till the end of next week.

I don't know what to do at this point. It will be 30 days tomorrow. If they never even got them we just wasted a whole month for nothing.

Same happened to me. My husband sent our first package 10th of August, USPS tracking showed it was delivered on 13th August. My husband called NVC 8th September and they claimed they never received our package, he immediately sent out a new package and the sent day we got a mail from NVC that our package was received on the 8th September- meaning they found the previous package that we sent. A week after we received another mail for new scan date 14th September.

I received a checklist for two documents that I submitted, they have a scan date of 8/19 & 8/28 respectively. I've been calling everyday to get an update and still no CC. I called Wednesday and was told "it looks like your documents are being reviewed, but the review isn't complete yet". I called back yesterday and was told, "well it looks like a supervisor has gotten a hold of your case and is reviewing it, once it's been reviewed you'll get an email". Has anyone been told this before? Does this mean my case is being reviewed or is this a NEW clever way for the NVC to say my case hasn't been reviewed yet and I still need to wait?

Well, we didn't send it by mail but by email. So it is pretty amazing that they could lose an email. I am going to call today and see what they say, then me and my wife need to decide what we are going to do. If we send a new package I don't know if we should send it by email or switch to mail. And if we do switch to mail, I am not sure what could happen if they all of a sudden find the email.

It takes about 1-2 weeks for your case to get there and then roughly 2 weeks more for a case number to be assigned.

When you call there is an option to see if they received your mail. You will then be put on hold and the person that comes on will ask for your USCIS receipt number.

Congrats, Hira!

I have never received NOA 2, and it is not even needed. So, waiting for the letter can lengthen your process immensely. Don't do that.

I think it's a little early for you to call NVC, though. Lately they have been receiving cases from USCIS no sooner than 2 weeks after the approval. But of course, it never hurts to practice your patience, trying to reach them :D

My husband just git got the AOS and IV invoices today. After trying and failing to get in touch with me he sent cashiers checks instead of doing the payments online...he dis this because he remembered me mentioning that the system had been faulty a few weeks ago...I'm o frustrated, even the NVC website says paying this way creates delays. How long can we expect to wait for the step to be ready now????
