NVC Operators

OK, so I am waiting to review my DS-261 so I can pay my IV fee and move on. My AOS fee is marked PAID and this morning I talked to Ron who went through all my info and was very encouraging and said they were working on my file and only one person at a time can have a file open, and I should call back tonight or tomorrow ("we're open til midnight!"). So I called back tonight, and I got Josh, whom I've spoken to before, who seems to be determined that no case can possibly advance before 28 days has passed. He's yawning on the line, and just seems not to be very happy with his job.

(I've been calling every day, because I have seen so many VJers who can pay their AOS and IV fees same day or day after, so I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE if you get the right breaks.)

So he says YOUR CASE STARTED ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 AND IT TAKES 28 DAYS TO BE PROCESSED and I laugh and say, oh, because the person I spoke to this morning suggested I try back tonight and he says OH I'M SORRY BUT THAT'S WRONG so I just wished him a great night and hung up because honestly, life is too short to argue with bureaucratic phone operators.

Anyway. There are so many nice people answering the phone over there, I guess it's only normal that there are some whose attributes I presume I'm prohibited from enumerating by VJ's language policy.

The guy i finally got last that gave me my numbers was very personable and helpful. I had some people that seemed to struggle w/ command of english which was pretty frustrating and yea not very pleasant. But I be a lot of people aren't very facilitative of them. I also definitely think they get the information retroactively and dont have anything until its finally updated...so I bet its frustrating for them cause it doesnt seem realtime. The last guy had all this information but the interim calls didnt have anything which based on the dates I was given their information isn't progressively updated.

It just seems weird that you seem to HAVE to call the NVC, when it could be electronically communicated like USCIS or even automated phone system.

I wanted to update this to say that I caught Josh two more times on different days, and he was in a much better mood

ETA: I still haven't been able to review my DS-261, but apparently I should be able to in the morning.
