I'd wager not, unless they didn't disclose it before. Not sure you can claim disability when you're the root cause of it.

With all of the fuss about transgender issues these days–and support–I have been warning that the next stage in radical self-recreationism will be to allow people suffering from the terrible mental illness, body integrity identity disorder (BIID), to have healthy limbs amputated or spinal cords severed to allow an able-bodied sufferer to become the disabled person they know themselves to be. Such radical policy changes are always preceded by word engineering. Now–bootstrapping off the popularity of transgender issues–BIID is morphing into “transabled.” From the National Post story: “We define transability as the desire or the need for a person identified as able-bodied by other people to transform his or her body to obtain a physical impairment,” says Alexandre Baril, a Quebec born academic who will present on “transability” at this week’s Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Ottawa. “The person could want to become deaf, blind, amputee, paraplegic. It’s a really, really strong desire.” But Wesley, doctors would never cut off a healthy limb! Besides, society would never allow it. Really? Self-definition is becoming a fundamental right to which all must acquiesce and the medical arts must be applied to effectuate. It’s already being proposed. And look how easily the media slipped into the term transabled. It is only a matter of time.

I would like to know how these people would get financial support from being able bodied to whatever BIID target they were trying to manifest to. It could certainly be harder / limit occupations. They would arguably have increased equipment, medical costs ...etc. I doubt anyone presaves for all that. Insurance? I doubt it. Curiouser and curiouser...

Relax, you're not the minority yet. I know you keep thinking the piece of the pie is getting smaller by the minute.

Typically, you can go to a place that can do this type of thing for cheap, but not safely. I read a while ago some hack would remove a leg or arm for next to nothing. I think it was down in Mexico if I'm not mistaken.
