I've got my visa in hand, woo hoo!

I'm going trough customs in Calgary and then flying to JFK.

Right now the things I think I need are:

Passport w/ visa on it

Sealed Visa Package

Medical Clearance Package From Exam

Do I need to bring all the other supporting documentation I brought to interview? Thanks

You need visa/passport, Manila envelope/visa package for poe. Nothing else medical stuff isn't for POE and you dunt need the evidence....POE is ok nly to submit your package to, they won't and can't readjudicate your K1 visa.

I'm heading through Calgary POE as well! Saturday! Can't wait!

That's all I thought we needed so I hope you're correct ;)

If my POE is before yours I'll let you know how it goes. I found very little reviews of Calgary as a POE.

Thankyou Shauneg

@mdcatelli I'm going on tuesday. Good luck tomorrow let me know how it goes!

Good morning Calgary!

I just got through security now. I got off my connection from Winnipeg at around 8 local time, followed the arrows to u.s. customs, picked up my luggage and stood in line at customs. Once I got to the country the gentleman asked me where I was moving to, and I said San Diego on a k1. He took my packet, boarding pass and passport and asked a few questions (when are you getting married, indoor or outdoor wedding, who's planning it, and what my fiance does for work), and asked me to follow him to the other room to process the visa packet. I had to leave my luggage outside and then I had to sit and wait for about 5 minutes until the lady called me. I think it was her first K1, as the gentleman stayed a minute to explain to her what to do with it. She opened the packet and looked over it before calling me. Once there, she looked through my stuff and again asked me when we were getting married, and upon realizing it was within the 90 days she said good, you know the requirements. She stamped everything she needed to stamp and sent me on my way, reminding me again about the 90 days to wed. When you enter they put your boarding pass on a slot by yours luggage so remember to grab it on your way out!

After that head through security and enjoy! It took about an hour total from my other plane landing to getting through security.

Overall it was very stress free and shouldn't be a problem :) good luck!

I had a very tight connection tue oct 06. I arrived at Calgary airport at 9am from Victoria, and my flight was supposed to start boarding at 9:45.

I went to international luggage, there was an American flag on the sign I believe. I waited and got my luggage, then went to customs. There was about 40 ppl in front of me and 4 desks open.

I was pretty worried I'd miss my flight. The line moved at a steady pace. It probably took 40 minutes. I presented my paperwork to the customs agent and then he asked me to come with him to the other room.

He put my boarding pass outside, and told me to leave my luggage outside too. There were about 4 people in the room waiting before me. For ten minutes no one was called up and I was sure I'd miss my flight. Then I saw someone get denied entry because of a theft charge back in the 80's. He was choked.

Finally they called my name up. The agent was really nice. He mentioned that they didn't give me much time with my connection and I agreed! He rushed me through, asked if I had a wedding date and I ran with my bags and boarding pass to security. Luckily there was no line.

I ran to my gate and my flight was still boarding. It was about 15 mins late. I was so relieved to make my flight!

I'd give yourself 2 hours layover for a k-1, if possible. I could imagine being leased stressed at the airport. But I'm glad it worked out for me.
