Finally an approval!! After a very silly mistake of forgetting to answer a question on a checkbox which caused a RFE and long delay.

Very relieved and excited nonetheless :).

I know many of the October filers have gone far in their journey. Congrats to every one of you.

VJ has been such a great help!

Hi everyone, October filers here, hopefully getting towards the end of this first part of the journey and onto the interview phase.

Our case status switched to "Ready" from CEAC on December 4th. Today I received a push on the USCIS app saying...

"Document Was Mailed

we mailed your document for your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiancee Receipt Number..."

I have yet to receive the official P2 even though we were approved a month ago on November 19th. Does this mean that they are mailing the packet from the consulate to my fiancee or is this closing out of the approved I-129F form and mailing that approval.

Thank you for your help and advice :)

I got my letter from the consulate in Mexico! I guess the only thing left to do is get everything ready for the interview and figure out when/how to schedule the medical exam! I just wish we could have scheduled our interview for sooner than February.

Yei!!!!!

Congratulations

I tried to get an appointment for the medical in Mexico City, but once they knew the interview is until the end February, they said it was too soon to schedule it. So I will call again by the end of January to get an early February appointment.

If your Fiancé lives in Mexico City he can do the same. If he doesn't you will have to get an appointment in the Ciudad Juarez clinics and consider the extra days needed in order to sort all that out. You can get the phone numbers of the clinics in the link that appears in the consulate letter. ;)

I wish we could have also gotten an earlier interview date, but my Fiancé and I are taking advantage of that extra time to plan better my move. I still wish I could be already with him. :(

Big Hugs for both of you!!!! And congratulations once more :joy: :joy: :joy:

Alex and I have been friends for 23 years. We met in Mexico City and kept in touch as our friendship grew. The best thing you can do is call NVC with your USCIS receipt number or your NVC case number if you already have one and ask about your case.

I called several times during our wait from being approved to our case being sent to the Consulate in Mexico, and they were nice enough to let us know when the case was sent to Mexico, and when the letter from the Consulate (better known as Packet 3) was sent to us.

I hope this helps. :)

I emailed the embassy telling them that my petition was sent by the NVC the 25th november and that they received it the 1st december and they answered me saying this:

"We still havent received the Electronic file yet "

Can someones tell me what does this mean?? I thought they only need my petition so they can send me the Packet 3 ect...!!

There are two packets that will be forward to your Embassy for the interview and review by the interviewing CO. One is the paper and the other is electronic. When both arrive at the Embassy then your case is set to "ready to interview".

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Juarez Mexico.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different processes for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through the Embassy at Juarez Mexico. When you are at the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Mexico most there will help answer your questions for the processing of your visa using their personal experience.

Link: http://travel.state....udadJuarez.pdf as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the this website as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

The reason they wanted to put off your medical is because the visa validity date is good for only 6 months and the date the clock starts ticking :clock: is the medical date and not the visa approval date. Hence, the delay.
