It will take 7 - 10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and get the case # from

Finally, after lurking on this forum for longer than I dare admit, I'm now officially petitioned for! We got our e-notification Oct 1st and heading for CSC. Good luck to all of us :-)

Just called NVC on hold for 20 minutes, but boo, my case isn't in their system yet :(

But I'm pleased, I called at 12:40pm EST, and only waited 20 minutes. So I'm happy that I don't have to get up at 7am to call.

Also I was surprised by the music, totally thought it would be the Star Spangled Banner! :joy:

Once again feeling stressed.

Our case was approved on nov. 5 and still no NVC case number!!! :cry:

People with an approval date after us already have case numbers. I don't get how that works. :clock:

It is sooo frsutrating. :crying:

Just got the notice from the app (not text or email) NOA2 petition approved updating timeline.

Congratulations! When was your noa1? Goshhh. I hope ours comes this week too.

Thanks. 10/23/15 I put together a really good petition so I have faith that this should be smooth all the way to Juarez.

Does anyone know if the National Visa Center sends a hard copy of instructions with the case number to my mailing address?

NVC will send you a simple letter, that will say "your case has been forwarded" and will tell you what is case number that they assigned. (not very informative on what to do next)

You'll get a letter with the case number but it will be awhile after your case is approved. Maybe 20-30 days. Best be on the phone and get the case number.

Also:

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to take at the US Embassy - Brazil. It is filled out...it is Mexico at this point i will wait a couple of weeks until calling nvc no hurry for me i see my fiancee every weekend so this was much quicker than expected.
