I did not receive and email. I checked the app this morning (I actually hadn't even downloaded it until today!) and this is what I saw:

I was on the September thread and noticed that some one with the same receipt date as mine was approved and I checked the case status website of the USCIS and sure enough it says approved. So no i didn't get any email or text although i did for the NOA1.

Hi everyone,

Are people putting their 'Received date' (as seen on the USCIS website) as their NOA1 date, or the date they received the email that their case had been routed to CSC?

I am yet to have received my hard copy NOA1, so I am feeling very anxious!

Hi Minkar,

When we first got the e-notification of the NOA1 I used that date (sep 30) on our VJtimeline, but when we got the hard copy it mentioned the Notice date as one day before we got the e-mail (sep 29). The Notice Date as mentioned in the Hard copy is the accurate NOA1 date to put in your VJ Timeline to get your estimated dates for the NOA2.

Thank-you for your reply. Unfortunately, we are yet to have received our hard copy of the NOA1 in the mail. When I called CSC about it, they said they couldn't help me until after October, 30!

I really hope that our NOA2 comes very soon! Tomorrow is my birthday..what a great present 'approved' NOA2 would be! haha! Fingers crossed!

What I meant to say is that for now you can put the date of your e-notification. It is possible that your notice date is only one day before that. Once you get your Hard copy you can modify your VJTimline (that is what we did)

We got our e-notification on Sep. 29 but got the Hard copy until oct 8.

It should be 7 to 10 business days for you to get the hard copy. Have you checked the package you sent to verify that there is no mistake in the address you provided for your fiancé?

You mentioned you called CSC?

You could call the National Customer Service Center of the USCIS, with your receipt number that starts with WAC and then 10 numbers. They might help you with this.

The number is 1-800-375-5283

Yes, I've checked multiple times. No issues with the address at all. I am extremely meticulous.. haha!

I'll call again on Friday, October 30, as suggested to do so!

Just out of curiosity- what's the big deal of getting the NOA1 hard copy? Is this just for peace of mind- or is there some relevance to it? It seems that once you get the eNotification that this should be adequate enough.

I think the eNotification doesn't have the receipt #. You need the receipt # so you can check the status on the uscis website.
