Need Help with Cuban consulate and Packet 3

My fiance called the consulate they informed him they don't send a packet out to them - and that there is nothing for him to pick up.

WTH is that ish. How is he suppose to know what is required? Needed for the interview, and get a medical done if they don't give him anything?

I'm getting annoyed with this process.

Can anyone give insight to this - perhaps someone who has gone through the Cuba process.

I can only speak for JA. Our embassy emails packet 3. I'm not sure if that is an option but perhaps an email asking for packet 3 would help.

In our country portal there is a pinned post with a recent checklist for packet 3. Possibly the Cuba portal has somehting similar or a Cuba VJer could send you one.

Best of Luck!

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Pepper,

Please read this all the way through. I believe that once you get your case number the beneficiary will need to go ahead and complete the DS-160 and will need to create an account on US travel docs which will provide more information for the interview.

Hello,

I am way ahead of you going through this process.

Because I am in the petitioner, I electronically filed most everything for my Fiance & they (can't remember if it was the Consulate, or the Visa Center) sent me a list of instructions via

email. I forwarded all of that to my Fiance in Cuba who then made his Doctor Medical exam $450.00 U.S. dollars! then he took that to his appointment along with proof of relationship

(I recommend take ALOT) along with anything else they ask him to take their.

I don't want to discourage you, but we began this process last year Aug. 2014, My Fiance's 90 day Visa expired Feb. 28th of this year, long story short, his paperwork

it on it's 3rd trip around because it was refused by the Cuban Consulate Officer on a 221g, not enough evidence of a bonifide relationship.

So I can not tell you the importance of taking MORE than NOT enough to the interview.

Had I known this could possibly happen I would have flown there & gone to the interview with him.

NOW......that being said we should hear something by Oct. 23rd this year from USCIS.

They will either Approve him to come here, or Allow more time....another review, OR (knock on wood this does not happen) CLOSE the case completely after review.

As of this date, we were never told exactly why the Officer believed that we do not have a bonifide relationship.

We are an older couple, at the time of my visit we did not really take alot of photos because my camera was better at Videos.

Also my Fiance's english is not that good, perhaps he was nervous and did not understand certain questions.

Your Fiance needs to know alot of things, like your favorite color, what do you guys have in common? Why do you want to marry?

Your parents first and last names, where do your parents live? Where does our Fiance live in the U.S.?

What does she do for a living?

I am just giving you examples, I am not sure what exactly they asked my Fiance, he should have asked for an interpreter.

I hope this helps you.

Stay diligent, cross your T's and dot your I's.

Good luck,

Bell

Thank you for the response but I figured it out. He already had his medical and the interview is set.

I'm sorry but what do you mean he should of had an interpreter? Why are they not asking him this in Spanish. Out of all the people I talk to on here not one of them said they didn't ask questions in Spanish.

My fiancé knows all that information about me so no concern there- only concern is I will not be there and we don't have a zillion photos due to the first 3 trips I couldn't be in photos.

Oh well I'm going to leave it up to date.
